As a guy I still watch all of these videos, I still do think the information is really important for guys to know too. For example just so that we know how to understand and sympathise with the gals in our lives that go through the physical and emotional pain periods can bring. I actually think the girl talk vids are among my favourites on the channel. You’re doin’ cool shit Ally, keep it up 💖 (had to throw in a Taylor reference, the 1 is probs my fav Taylor song😂)

Thank you so much for the support Stuart - on my channel and to women everywhere! It was so frustrating being a teenager having to shut up and stay quiet about these things if we were in front of boys because they'd call it gross and inappropriate, when all we could do was try our best to get through the pain. Thank you even more so for the Taylor reference, you know the way to my heart :)

I’ve been using period underwear with a cup for about a year. I was used to tampons and pads, so these just essentially became my sustainable alternative. Wish I had done this sooner honestly, especially the cup, it’s a game changer!

I'm so glad you made this, i just got my first period exactly a month ago and I am expecting it soon 😬 My story is kinda funny, i was watching a taylor swift video, and i paused it to go to the bathroom and noticed the tiniest spot of blood and thought "is it finally happening??!?" and immediately put on a pad, i noticed at the earliest second lol

I think you just convinced me to try period undies. When I first heard of them I thought “ew…” but this was so informative. I’m also always deathly afraid of TSS and change my tampon more than necessary which is just annoying and also so wasteful. Thank you so much Ally. Now I’ll have to explain to my bf what period panties are again, because currently they just mean my old underwear that I won’t care about if a leak happens. 😂

I remember spending a ton of money (for a teenager lol) on a pack of period panties in high school. I ordered my normal size (xl, which happened to be their largest size 😒)but they ran so small and ended up not fitting me or accepting returns. This not only made me feel terrible about my body and size but also discouraged me from trying period panties at all. Thanks for sharing this awesome brand!

Definitely giving off BFF sleepover vibes!🥰Thank you for breaking period stigma! I’m also always open to chatting about periods with my guy friends, especially when I realised how uneducated some were about periods. One of my guy mates thought we could hold it in like pee, and thought we wore pads in case we had an accident😭. Thankfully he was grateful when I explained it to him😆. Period/embarrassing story: I started my period in like 6th or 7th grade, in gym class (the last class of my day thank G-d). I was disappointed but it wasn't that bad thankfully. Then the next year I had a weird thing happen. I played varsity volleyball, which meant that we played our games before JV and we left our backpacks on the bus with them at away games. Well, naturally I had pads in my backpack, and while I was playing the JV team went through our bags and pulled the pads out of mine and showed them off to the whole team when I got back. I don’t think they knew the bag was mine, but obviously I was mortified at the time. 15 years later I’m still baffled that they thought going through our bags was okay??

I'm so happy the algorithm recommended one of your Taylor videos to me a couple months ago - you're now one of my favorite authorities on TS Lore and your excitement is so infectious! - and that I went through your back catalog and found this particular one. You made excellent points in such an engaging way, so after doing my own research on Modibodi, I've just placed my first order as a birthday present to myself this month. I am so lucky that I caught their midyear sale so I didn't have to spend as much as I thought I would (the exchange rate is quite painful). Great video❤️ I first had my period in the age of twelve and I’ve been using tampons since then (I am 15 now). I remember unpacking a pad for the first time and thinking something like “this can’t be my life for the next 30 to 40 years” and using a tampon instead. It just feels very comfy to me but after this video and after my sister trying out period underwear I am considering trying it out too. I think it’s great that you are talking about these things so openly because in our society it still is kind of a taboo topic (is this even an English word?😅) and that taboo needs to be broken❤️ By the way, can we just talk about your editing skills? I love it when you in the picture are still thinking about something (for example with the Cullen familiy (could you pleassse explain it? I am curious😂)) but you are already saying something in the next clip. Amazing❤️ Love from Germany on the other side of the world❤️❤️

Big sister Ally back at it again! This came at just the right moment! Here’s my first period story: So my school was doing The Little Mermaid (I was a freshman in high school America) it was OPENING NIGHT! (It’s the running cast and crew joke that SOMETHING happens to me EVERY opening night because it’s TRUE!) but yeah we were all hanging out before the show because we would go right from school to hangout and have dinner before the show and then wouldn’t get to go home until 11:30 PM! So I started out of nowhere and it was my first one so I had no idea WHAT was happening. My “stand partner” (male) handed me his sweatshirt and told me to tie it around my waist. I had NO IDEA why so he has to tell me what was going on 😂 (we’re still besties to this day) so I had to bleed out ALL of Act one because NOBODY had a pad which was shocking. Luckily my best friend came to the show and I could run in at intermission to see her and she had one but it was the most uncomfortable opening night ever and brings funny memories back whenever we think about The Little Mermaid! 🧜♀️

🙌🏻🙌🏻 Thanks so much for normalising period chat, period undies and incontinence as well! Just wanna say tho, if you have period pain that still leaves you unable to go about your day despite taking pain killers and using heat packs, this is not normal. Neither is stress-induced incontinence. These can be signs of an underlying health issue like endometriosis, and it’s definitely worth speaking to your GP about, and looking for a referral to a gynaecologist and/or a pelvic floor physio. :)

I love the idea of period underwear, but they are usually so expensive. I recently found a Hanes set that was only $16 for 3. They aren't great but they do the job, they have that slippery almost swimming suit material. I use menstrual cups most of the time but I like to have backup because sometimes I don't get the cup in correctly. I also like them for the last 2 or 3 says when I'm just spotting or when I expect my period to start and I am too busy to keep checking.

Commenting while wearing my period undies. Great timing . My first period story. I'm a twin & my twin got her period a day or so before me & I got it the morning us 2 & our 2 friends were going to my aunts place in Sydney's eastern suburbs for the weekend for our birthday to the beach. So was a few days off from turning 13 I think. I was so upset I got mine bc I couldn't go for a swim & it was just before school went back end of January/start of Feb so it was so hot as well. My mum gave us talk before we went to my aunts & my aunt also had some extra pads for us just incase & had extra bed sheets. So was great to have all that but i was like nah I don't feel like swimming I'll stay on the beach. I've started wearing period undies with in the last year & they're a game changer but I do want some nice colourful ones so might have to stock up on more.

My first period story was really mortifying. Now I think it's funny but a few years ago I wanted to disappear right then and there. It was the day after a big surgery and I was 13. I remember being woken up to the nurse could check my pulse and stuff. While walking around my bed she noticed some blood smears on the covers. So she checked if I had bled through my bandage which I didn't so she was a bit confused. Then she asked me: "Honey did you start your period by any chance?" And I was like "what, I mean I don't think so. She helped me out of bed and I had a bright red stain on my pj bottoms. That was definitely mortifying at that time but today I can laugh about and be grateful that she was there for me and even brought me some chocolates.

The other doctor also just told me to try another birthcontrol again (I didn't see enough results last time) but I still have the same symptoms (almost all of the endomeyriosis symptoms + painful boobs and sometimes even lumps in it) I still have to try 2 months before I can give up, but I am just sick of it cause this way I might never get a referral to a gynecologist.

What about clumps? Do you just rinse that off and throw it in the wash? Also, how are they different from pads?
@AllySheehan Жыл бұрын
yep they just rinse right out! and pads aren't re-usable :)

Ok I know this is an old video so you almost definitely will never see/reply to this but what happens if you are on holiday for example and you cannot get them in the wash? I know you said about not letting the blood dry but how would you do that?
@AllySheehan Жыл бұрын
you can wash them in the shower with you!

Do period undies hold a lot of blood? I have mega heavy periods as I have Stage 4 Endometriosis. I’m also curvy/plus size. Thank you
@AllySheehan21 сағат бұрын

Noooo!!! You should never exceed 6 hours max with a tampon, people have contracted toxic shock syndrome and lost limbs from it 🤍🤍🤍

I’ve been doing some research and I think I might have PCOS. I know I should go to a Gyno to get checked out but I am so scared. Like I genuinely can’t do it. It’s just so embarrassing and so awkward. I’m scared she’ll tell me that there’s something wrong with me or judge me. Idk what to do 😭😭😭
