I did too, I couldn't resist the temptation... Like I knew not to expect P2, this record is immensely different; but it is so much better in terms of musicianship from everything they have put out. The albums also haunt my mind with the riffs. Its insane, cant wait for my preorder.

I find all of Periphery's albums to be growers. It took me a bit to fall in love with P2 but once I did it became my favorite album ever (still is). This album however really shows their progression as musicians.
@Demiurge66

P2 is a masterpiece and the mix was perfect, tbh Spencer's voice in p2 was more pleasant to listen to cause he's singing like angel and his scream transitions were perfect and in Jug he's yelling then alittle singing. Put it like this even though p2 wasn't 17 songs there was a never dull moment in p2 every song was perfect. These albums are iffy for me it's not bad but there were some songs I didn't like on jug..this is honest critique after listening to the entire album I felt they could have done a little better on some songs. I felt this was a little rushed, P2 came out in 2012 then they toured on that for awhile so that left them a little over a year in 8 or 9 months to get jug together, if they put at least a little more time it would have tuned out even better. To me p2 still wins. Just cause it had 17 songs doesn't mean it's the best album it just means it has alit of songs. I love Periphery and their previous work even clear but I feel it's not doing a band justice just lying to them saying it's album of the year and that shit like everyone else is doing. I loved that they tried something new, the albums were good but not the best or super great in my opinion. Honest 8/10 for me.

I agree with you on P2, but I'm enjoying this album, like I said Periphery's album have always been growers and this one isn't an exception. Their songs have a tendency to always creep in my head without listening, and Juggernaut accomplishes that, I think after I get the lyrics from my preorder I'll enjoy this album way more.

I personally found Gamma to be the better of the four albums released. How can you replace Spencer's soaring highs in "Spare Tire"..? Unmatched musicianship. Not to mention Matt exploring his boundaries and using tabla drums. These guys really upped their game.

OFFICIAL LYRICS: Further down this road Where is it that we are leading the generation we know? The answers lie down inside the mind of humanity It's a vast, dark sea Will we fall forever alone, down in this unknown abyss? Where we fail is thinking our worth is something much more than this Hold your breath We're sinking down for miles in an ocean full of mortal mistake, where the light is much clearer Is it time to purge our lungs amongst the shipwreck? Further we lower us down The walls are closing in We're cluttering All that is meant for us is lost Bite your tongue Can we search a little deeper for what our actions will cost? Will we fall forever alone, down in this unknown abyss? Where we fail is thinking our worth is something much more than this Hold your breath We're sinking down for miles in an ocean full of mortal mistake, where the light is much clearer Is it time to purge our lungs amongst the shipwreck? Further we lower us down We set our feeble minds on the bullshit Will we ever escape from where the light is much clearer? Is it time to purge our lungs amongst the shipwreck? Further we lower us down Can't we find a place where we finally can think for ourselves? Our thoughts are unspoken We can fly, yes, we can soar Staring in the face what we choose to accept, but can't ignore Our thoughts are unspoken Life is knocking at your door This is a calling to the human race We are alone the more we segregate And I won't be part of this in the end Hold your breath We're sinking down for miles in an ocean full of mortal mistake, where the light is much clearer Is it time to purge our lungs amongst the shipwreck? Further we lower us down We set our feeble minds on the bullshit Will we ever escape from where the light is much clearer? Is it time to purge our lungs amongst the shipwreck? the best part about Juggernaut is that listening in order or even in relevance to the album, it doesn't even matter. You can listen to these songs in literally any order, skip around, mix Alpha tracks with Omega tracks- they're still each amazing, and eventually, you'll reach the resolution in Stranger Things and the progressive struggle will be over. Then you'll see the story come full circle. Periphery, how do you do it..?

This and 22 faces are my favorite songs on Alpha. I saw them back in January and not only was the set list fucking awesome but I actually caught a pick from Misha and Mark plus after the show Spencer was chillin outside and my brother and I got to shake his hand and talk to him a little bit about the tour. They're super chill guys and incredible musicians. I truly hope they have a long future with Periphery.
