One of my favorite songs of all time. It has literally everything in it. Opening an album with a 17 minute song is bold, and periphery is one of the only bands that can pull it off.

It's a great song. If you like songs like this that go a bunch of different places, you gotta hear Omega. I also recommend listening to stranger things right after it but it's not necessary but Omega imo is their craziest song and I like it even more than Reptile.

I consider this song an "Umbrella track" It essentially tells the entire story first, then every song after is a chapter from the story to a small degree. Its about a revolution that happens against the forces of evil, evil that has influenced the churches, media, and governments. The planet ends up getting destroyed and "fights back" as if it were alive, so humanity discovers lightspeed technology and leaves Earth as it dies from their own pollution and wars, but ultimately survives. I highly recommend the song Satellites from the same album, it's about the perspectives from Earth and humanity and is a beautiful song.

Great reaction, I love your enthusiasm. If you want another heavy one by Periphery, try 'Blood Eagle' next. If you want another proggy one. try 'Racecar'. Racecar is very early on in their discography, so Spencer (the singer) sounds very different, but the song is fantastic nonetheless
