That trick with the level is worth having looked at the whole video. Unfortunately, my young self (in 1978) let my framing subcontractor convince me that using green lumber for floor joists would work out just fine (they would straighten any that bowed! NOT!) Consequently I have a house that doesn't have a level floor anywhere in it! I think the lumber yard owner and my contractor had a deal to get rid of some rough cut, green, lumber and I was the sucker who bit.

You guys remind me of framing houses with my family. Dad and uncle were framers years ago and me, my brothers and cousins worked for them and we always had a great time. Keep up the good work and if I ever move up y’all’s way I may inquire about a job. 😁. Happy Fathers Day!

I agree! Live in a development where most of the houses are slapped up. Every once in a while another builder comes in (when the main builder is behind) and does one. The difference in the main builder and the back up builder is huge!! The back up builder actually follows all the safety stuff like strapping in through a patented metal support system they have. The scrap lumber is put in bins around the build. And at the end of every day, they go around and clean up. They have a small crew compared to the main builder, but they are faster at building-because the main builder usually has to take stuff apart and fix it😖 We were thrilled when we found out our house was done by the back up builder.
