I'd really hate to see the day Arlo retires or no longer can work.😢 He really is invaluable on your team! Being the oldest and having decades of building knowledge, you really have a gem who can always figure out the best short-cut or improvise if you happen to be short on materials, etc. His expertise shows.👏 For today we have to "Let Jamie NOT talk" so he can rest his voice. Sometimes kids just don't remember to keep their voice down, being loud comes naturally for them. Not so easy for parents though. 😅 As always, great team work today!👍🤗

Hey guys, on several videos you get water stuck in places you don't want it. Get yourselves a couple cheap battery or electric ( pool & spa cover pumps) they go super shallow allowing you to get all the way down to 1/8" of water. You'll be thankful. Cheers boys, keep building

Those telescopic ladders are great, but be careful sanding drywall with them. After awhile the fine dust gets inside them and makes it hard for the ladder to collapse, or hard to latch fully, then collapses when you step on it.
@sjantenhg11 ай бұрын
yeah, i dont trust them, having had 2 practically brand new, malfunction on me, one collapsing with me standing on it, in about 3 meters height.

We have a non-vevor brand one, and you definitely don't want to rest them in the dirt either. Keep them vertical, off the ground, or the telescoping function will be a big pain.

I've watched most of the videos on KZbin from you guys and being a former multi-trade contractor that got permanently hurt I pretty much knew how Jamie got hurt but avoided it til today. I got injured in a very similar fashion, complacency. I went 30' in the air on uneven ground, first thing in the morning with dew still on the grass in a shaded yard. Carrying shingles up on the roof because we were behind and short handed. 9 operations later,with back,neck,shoulder and nerve damage I'm very safety conscious. Best thing you can do going forward for yourself and your crew is to buy the best tools you can with the best safety features. Sawstop, Festool,Fein and Flex and Ventrak for outdoor are about the best with features to do the best quality work safely. All the best guys 👌

I love your guys’ attention to detail. I wish more contractors were like you guys. There’s too many out there that say they are “contractors” or “carpenters” and they do terrible jobs. I put an addition on my house in 2017 in ny and had to fire the guy part of the way through for doing a crappy job and kept asking for more and more money even when he wasn’t showing up. He asked me and my wife to call the companies to order the wood or concrete. We figured why not help but later found out it was because he was blacklisted from these companies for stealing materials from a bunch of them. Then after we fired him it got out on Facebook and he came and started an enclosed trailer of mine on fire at night. I had him on camera doing it and the nys police still didn’t do anything. In 2020 my house caught on fire due to his crappy electrical work so I lost everything. Long story short, for those of you reading this please please do your homework on so called contractors before having work done. It may cost more but finding a crew like the Perkins crew that’s very transparent and has a ridiculous attention to detail is worth the extra money.

That episode seemed short, but sweet 😊 Arlo, once again is the MVP, his expertise is phenomenal, which comes from a lifetime in building/carpentry, the rest of the team are great too. It is really getting interesting with these porches and the different heights involved to get a visually appealing build quality. Good post, especially the one that the drone was sat on, which made me chuckle. Take care, all of you, see you soon 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨

Don't know if you'll ever see this, but, The issue with using the Drone for a time lapse like you tried is the cooling, The DJI Drones can run a little bit warm, but they use the air they push round for cooling, Landing like you did and shutting off the motors means no air movement and as such no movement, After a short while the drone will shut of to protect itself. However, A simpler Idea could be to mount a go-pro or similar to the same post set the time lapse going on that and then raising the post up to height, would make for a great camera view point

Window washing ladders are great for maneuvering inside cause they come in 6ft sections and stack on top of each other they also come to a point and have v notch groove for setting it on corners. The downside to them is the cost which is over $300 a section and can only stack by manufactures suggesting is 5 sections and every time you stack a section you lose a foot. Also you can look into getting a window washing extension pole and make a mount to attach the end for putting a camera on it. They make various lengths of extensions with longest being able to reach 70ft but that is for a water fed pole. I used to wash windows professionally. Another thing with the stack ladders is having a good spot to store them in a vehicle especially nowadays with most trucks having short beds and when the truck is advertised as having a 6ft bed they measure the outside length and not the inside. Another feature of stack ladders and it will get people that are used to climbing a regular extension ladder is they flex which is beneficial to washing windows cause of instead of being at the angle which the ladder is set at it becomes more parallel to window which means less stretching.
