Smoking the potatoes must take potatoe salad to the next level! I use a lot of hard boiled eggs in my salad. In fact when my son in law first had it he said that we like a little bit of potatoes with our egg salad!😊

Did a couple of taters the other day on the BBQ. I forgot about them and came back later they had a super smokiness about them. Something magical happens when that grill comes out. Though the bottoms were crispy the inners were amazing.

That looks amazing Billy, take a bite for me! I add about the same ingredients in mine except I also add just a pinch of cayenne. Gotta add those capers, I actually put them in a lot of dishes. My Mom taught me and she always made the sauce on the side then folded it inn to the taters. I continue to do it the same. Thanks for sharing! I have a lot of catching up. My Brother came for a visit and we had a blast. So please be patient with me my friend.

Don't know if you know of cayenne pepper, i would use this instead of paprika. Man that is why I love farming it will provide you great food.

I for one am glad there’s no dill. Can’t stand that stuff. And mixed with sweet pickles??? Even if his recipe called for it, I’d leave it out. There is no dill in my house and if you find it in my garden, it’s just for some pest repellent properties. If anyone ever sends dill to me, I’ll forward it to you.

How long do the potatoes go in the oven and at what temp?

After there is sufficient smoke in them you have you have to play it by ear. I typically put them in there at 450 until they become slightly soft.

If you’re happy with smoked potatoes then you must have bacon crumbles in the salad. Everything is better with bacon!
