The immigration system in the United States is broken. We have kids who did not decide to come here illegally and who are law abiding people who are in unfortunate situations. DACA students should have a path to citizenship or at least to permanent residency.

Not all immigrants are Mexican like wtf people!!!! My family was originally from El Salvador 🇸🇻 and they came to this country illegally, u know how hard is it to cross the border!!!?? And some cruel people are saying "go back to ur countries wet bags, or immigrants, etc" well guess, these people work the butt off to come to this country and have a better life to support their families!!!! #equalrights

Dude have u seen how trashy are Hispanic neighborhoods, did u know that most of the gangs in LA are made of illegals. You earn your respect. Yes they do they come here and want to make this country like the trashy place they use to lived. Theres few exceptions yeah but most of them, they have destroyed the Hispanic name. It can be hard to accept but yeah the worst people from Latin America come here illegally. The good people are here legally

You're welcome on MY LAND whenever you'd like. It doesn't matter what the racist/prejudice people say. All these comments that mention "Illegal Immigrants", they fail to realize that their grandparents/parents/ancestors are the ones who are immigrants. This land DOES NOT belong to them. They do not have a say in who comes and goes. My people are the rightful owners of this land. Don't ever let words hurt your pride or hurt who you are as a person. If I had the choice of letting your people come to the states other than the moniyawak, I'm sure the world would be a better place. Please, on the behalf of my people you are welcome 💕 The first shall be last and the last shall be first. When "that time" comes they'll be begging our people (Yours and Mine) to show them how to survive and how to live; surely they'll remember then how they've treated our people badly (Yours and Mine).

Don't know what you're talking about but undocumented families make a big effort to come and live here. They work for their "better life" and often send money back to their families back home. It's not as though they live tax free in some magical house that they didn't have to pay for or go to public school that they didn't pay for through taxes too.

I am writing this to bring more awareness. Change will not just happen we have to fight for change. I'm not asking for money I am challenging everyone to help a friend out and to speak their minds.

In my country (germany) we recently had the case that a family was deported back to I think nepal because their refugee status had been declined ( I don't know if our treatment of undocumented is similar to those in America though) and they took the girl right out of her classes she was thirteen and in the highest level you can reach for our equivalent of a high school. She was sent back with her family and the students started these protests and other people joined and now she's back here with her family and can continue her life

I understand this is a very sensitive and complex subject. I know most undocumented immigrants risk everything to provide a better life for their children and only wish to find work - and I can respect that wholeheartedly. With that being said, we cannot ignore the fact that some *(not all)* of the people coming here are committing crimes. I think everyone can agree that criminals should be sent back, and I personally believe that children should not be punished for what their parents did and they should be granted citizenship. Is that reasonable?

How can people say that? How can people be so ignorant to say that they should get deported? I am very disappointed in what these people have been taught. My parents are immigrants they pay a lot in taxes, and get nothing back. My parents adopted two of my cousins, so that makes six children. We only get 400 dollars back in taxes. I think that people shouldn't speak until they have been in other people's shoes. I can see why people might think that we "take thier money and jobs" but they don't have to work twice as hard as we do to be heard. Today at my school I was called an immigrant just because I am brown. When I was in kindergarten, my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I said "I want to be the president of the United States!" She told me, "You can't be the president." I said "Why not?" She said this, and I quote, "Because you are Mexican-American." I thought that because I had a different skin color, other than white, that I couldn't be anyone of importance, besides a factory worker. Please be nice to people. Hopefully the new generation of kids see that any skin color, sexuality, and religion are all normal people.

Yoraima Chavez - your parents only got back $400 because they probably earn low wages. They EARN their money, honorably. Your teacher was probably trying to tell you that you have to be a natural born citizen of the US to be president. Please don't assume she was being mean. If your parents are filing income taxes then they have the right to work here. Your family is not part of the ILLEGAL alien debate. Kid if you want to live in the US and become a citizen. Assimilate and become a real American, you need to do your homework. It would be much easier on you and your family if we didn't have such a massive problem with illegal immigrants. Take some time to learn what illegal immigrants cost the US. The social ramifications of illegal immigration. Moving to a new location is difficult in the best of situations. Learn about the American culture and it's people. Read, listen, learn. A teacher once told me all media was produced by a person. Every person has a bias. Always question, check sources and cross reference information. Your parents will take care of their children before they take care of mine. America's children need attention right now. We take in more legal immigrants every year then any other country on earth. Hope I helped.

You don't get to choose to be called 'undocumented' if you are undocumented you are an illegal immigrant, it's simply as that. That's the law. My parents are immigrants and they came in legally. I agree that there should be a program so they can live as undocumented people as long as they register to become a citizen and are meeting the requirements which I'm sure won't be too difficult for most of these people their English is good and they seem pretty smart. America should make it easier for people who want to come over to live, work and study there and they should also make it easier for illegal immigrants who were brought in as children to get citizenship. But if you're illegal you're illegal, this isn't offensive, it's accurate, using the word 'undocumented' doesn't change any of that.

Will someone read this comment? probably not, but I still feel the need of saying this. To all the people saying "just enter legally" "green cards exist" "just get your papers done" and stuff like that: It's not that easy. Getting papers is ridiculously expensive. Most of us can't get the money, and if we try, that will take years of double shifts and extra time. Imagine this: You live in a country where the minimal wage is not enough to live a "decent life". Drug cartels fight in your city at least once a week. Your children must go to school, but you can't afford it. Want a promotion at your job? Dream on! You'll only get it if you somehow know the mayor or someone important. Let's fight the corrupted government! You'll die just like the others. Hey, there's a country that can offer you a good salary. No health care and everyone will despise you, bug you actually get paid. Wouldn't you go there illegally just to get your family a good future? I would and my parents did. And I am proud of them, because they risked their lives to get me and my brothers a good one. QUE VIVA LATINOAMERICA, QUE MUERA LA CORRUPCIÓN!

Eclipse a government isn't supposed to accommodate its laws to non citizens. the amount of immigration to a country always goes up and down depending on the country's necessity for them. when the country needs workers it looks for them, but when a country has a 4.9% unemployment rate they aren't needed at the time, and for that reason the government makes it harder for them to come. aside from that illegal immigration is not justified. if the illegal immigrants still feel this huge patriotism too their home land (as most of them do, and I'm not talking only about Latinos) they should try to better conditions over there instead of coming over breaking the law

I'm sure ya'll are nice people, none criminals and have the potential to contribute to society. We need more people like that, the more the merrier. But guys, some of us waited in line, and there are alot more still waiting in line to get here the right way. Just by basic decency principle, ya'll know that it's not fair. While ya'll are with your families, lots of families are separated cause they chose to respect the laws and do it right. DACA is a middle finger to those families who are doing it the right way.

if they're under daca then they have permission to study/work here for two years (they can renew this permit so its kinda like a visa? dont quote me on the visa bit). they're spreading awareness on a situation and will most likely not be deported bc of this bc daca gives them the ability to stay here unless they commit a crime or other offense.

@H N No, Latinos do not feel entitled to come here. Of course, there are many who do not appreciate the better opportunities this country provides, but most who come appreciate this country. And not everyone who has come here has gone through the legal process. May I remind you that this is stolen land, mate. That argument doesn't hold, so don't even bring it up. And such a lie about the taxes. They have to pay taxes just like US citizens. In fact, most of them do. The ones who don't is because they are afraid they will get deported, but the IRS still has them on the radar. Even though they pay taxes, they can't get the benefits that paying taxes has unless they have a citizen child, in which the benefits would only be for the child. In a way, they are paying for U.S citizens medical care, education, etc.

My best friend of 20 years is a LEGAL Ecuadorian immigrant. I remember talking with him and his parents about DACA and illegal immigrantion they were furious about it. They, like a lot of legal immigrants, hate the idea how illegals just cut in line to come into this country, and act as though they're owed something. They actually take pride in being American citizens. They waited, they took and passed their citizenship tests and interviews and what not. They paid their dues, and came to this country dirt poor. If they can do it, so can you.

It saddens me to see all of this comments saying go back to your country you criminal or wet bag. But the thing is that for us that came here when we were children to us this is our country because we grew up here this is all we know and we do contribute to the United States we do pay taxes we have to work our butts off so we can help out at home. We get discriminated on a daily basis and it sucks when people judge you that way. So having DACA gave us the small opportunity to breath a little and not be scared all the time and come out of the shadows to actually work to become someone there family's can be proud of something that they couldn't have given us in or our country of birth. So please if you don't know what it is like to be in the shadows and worried that when ever your family member goes out to work they might not come back because immigration caught them don't speak does negative words. Because just remember your ancestors that came to this country came here illegally also so if it hadn't been for them you wouldn't be living here ether. Just put yourself in our shoes for a moment.

The parents put their children in this situation- no one else did this. Illegal is not offensive it’s a fact. Mexico and other countries should be held accountable for providing humanitarian living conditions for their citizens. The focus should be on changing the laws not temporary providing sanctuary. You need to really ask yourself why is congress not focusing on actually changing the immigration laws to open the gate to let everyone come into this country. This topic is only for election years talking points. If the laws changed there is no need for feel good executive actions - there’s no need for daca dreamers it just a “look at me” I care talking point - but after the election Congress does nothing! Think about that - all these illegal immigrants are being fooled!

As far as I'm concerned, all immigrants are and should ALWAYS be welcome into the USA. Our country was founded on the idea of equal opportunity for all, no matter your background, so why don't we continue to live by those values? What happened between 1776 and now that made us so hateful towards people that at their cores, really aren't any different from us? We all want the same things right? Success, happiness, safety... what gives hateful Americans (who over 90% come from families of immigrants) the right to say who gets to have those things and who doesn't?
