The problem with a character like perpetua, is she's just another 'ultimate Bad guy' who's above all previous bad guys that came before, but one who we ironically have never heard about until now. She exists simply as a gimmick for the real main bad guy, in this case batman who laughs, so have ultimate power unlike anything that came before, and yet OH LOOK HE WAS STILL DEFEATED. She was just a mcguffin, you could cut out her entire story from the dc timeline and it wouldn't change anything.

I'm a sucker for epic story arc... Having her hand be the one at the moment of creation had me watching this twice. Her son's being who they are was tied together masterfully. There's absolutely no reason for us having to deal with the weak plots we get in the DCEU when there are stories like these they can use. Banga Rang.

She's the mother of some of the most powerful DC cosmic deities, but not all. Darkseid is pretty powerful, The Spectre, Phantom Stranger, Nekron, Dr. Manhattan, Mxy, Batman who laughs with Manhattan powers etc, etc Obviously The Presence/God is above everyone and allows it all to happen and the guardian of the Source Wall which trapped Perpetua in for eons, his name is the Cosmic Raptor, he appears briefly.

The Spectre, Hippolya and Phantom Stranger besides God and many others are above her, they offered her to be a Pantheon but she rejected, they only got beat by a powered up amped up Darkseid possessed by the Great Darkness.

However, I wish he powered up further with the combined magical powers of Zatanna and Dr. Fate as opposed to Hawkgirl. Zatanna and Nabu as one entity would be powerful enough to help the Ultra Monitor against Perpetua.

She is tied in, just ignored. She is an integral part of the Metal Wars, and the Hands (HER species) are responsible for IF in-story to begin with. TBWL became TDK so he could overthrow her. Overall, she is still canon, as the Hands are referenced by WW in JL 75, and the fact that she appears in IF 4 as a hologram.

Ignore what I said earlier. I don’t think they were ever said to be the top individually. Apexes at base are basically Martians with better fire resistance, infinite stamina, and immortality (from entropy, and presumably illness, but they can be slain in battle.)but they can wield the Seven Hidden Forces, allowing them to harness hidden emotion, cause the universe to stop expanding, counter magic, kill beings that represent abstract concepts such as the New Gods, and more. This effectively allows them as a horde to overwhelm the Brothers Three while weakened due to being in the 3rd dimension. This is still very impressive as they retain the ability to shatter reality. Overall humans and martians are not at the top, but fused together and wielding the Seven Hidden Forces they are.
