I've seen over 100 bands live and many of them very popular/mainstream/famous, and lots who are not, and Pearl Jam was the best live band I ever heard. No theatrics, no props on the stage, no hype-men jumping around like monkeys, no need for topless women. Just a superhero vocalist/frontman who had a fantastic voice and wrote incredible songs with wonderful lyrics and a team of brilliant musicians who brought in killer riffs and music and their own magical touch in songwriting.

Eddie used to swing from the rafters, of any venue he could do it, and fall to the crowd below, at some of them. But, I get what you’re saying. I got to see them a few times. Saw them in 92’, then a couple more times, years later. During the tour for Yield, then when they toured the album after, Binaural, I think. It was after 9/11 though. So maybe a couple years after that album. They sound as good as a band can, as far as the mix in the venues, and the sound onstage. I’ve been to one really long one, they did, and two long ones. The last tour had some songs I didn’t like as much, but they were still playing songs from the first album, with the same intensity, as a decade prior. Rhey

PJ's my all time favorite band but I had such a great time seeing Perry and JA in Seattle in 97.

I saw Pearl Jam in Denver at Lolla 2 in 92' and Eddie jumped off of the top of the swinging curtains of Fiddlers green. Certain death without being caught. He was a maniac back then and they sounded PERFECT! I saw Perry the year before, same place, close Lolla 1 and what I can say about him is that Perry's songwriting is off the charts and Janes Addiction sounded great incredible closing the show.

Love the irony of seeing James addiction stop a show (circa ‘99) because someone through a water bottle. To today. Stopping a show because this guy threw a punch.

This is a ridiculous attempt at revisionist history. Way before they were touring with Lolapalooza, they were a huge band topping the Billboard chart and getting heavy rotation on MTV. Either Perry was living in a cave in the middle of nowhere or he's lying. They were one of the biggest bands in the country, which is why they were headlining Lolapalooza instead of on a side stage. How tf would an organizer of the event not know one of the headlining bands? lol Hell, PJ performed at my university in May of 1992, which was crazy at the time. The student union had booked them before they took off, but by the time the concert came around, they were one of the biggest bands in the world.

Take Jane's Addiction over Pearl Jam any day. You heard one PJ song you've heard them all.

Substance over style. Imo, Pearl Jam's songwriting game is better.
