Liu Xiaobo, not that I have anything against him. But I have to say that he might have made things harder for the future political reforms in China, unintentionally of course. 1st of all, the timing couldn't be worse. 2008, the year that is "great" for the CCP to show its achievements to the entire world. 2nd, the silly calling to end the 1 party system. Would anyone seriously believe that CCP would just say "ok, if you say so". and quite the power?

As a Chinese, a safe and gradual change of the political system is definitely the best solution for China. The collapse of USSR didn't work out so well for the Russians, and the recent springs did not produce very positive outcomes for the people either. Therefore, chinese people are in doubt of the usefulness of this type of populous movements. Any how, just hope the CCP would not fail the high hopes of the people and use power it's been entrusted with wisely.
