Thanks for a fabulous video!!! I find that it’s also helpful to sew across the zipper ends to keep them together on that last seam about 1” from the edge of the fabric so they don’t wiggle around. I also think adding tabs is a good idea too. THANKS AGAIN.

Thanks to you, with this outstanding tutorial and the free pattern I was able to sew one up for a gift in one afternoon. I appreciate your generous sharing of your talent and look forward to trying more of your patterns. Tip: If you're using auto headliner instead of foam interfacing, sew the porous foam side down to the fabric and leave the smooth side up. The foam side sticks to the machine.

I just recently found your site and all your beautiful bag patterns. I downloaded the Persimmon Dumpling Pouch and watched the video. I have pieced the strip sets to make a small and a medium bag. Just waiting to get my zippers and foam interfacing from Amazon. I can't wait to try a more difficult bag if this one goes well. I have made lots of zipper pouches before but I just love the strip pieced design of this one. I have never worked with the shape flex foam before. I can't wait to see what it does to give structure to a bag. Thanks for the free pattern and the wonderful instructional video.

First time trying this bag ? I would NOT recommend using a metal zipper. LOL My bag is beautiful, but it has holes in it from where I couldn't make the zipper behave! Thus is gets caught on the lining. Will try again when my nylon zipper tape gets here. At least if you use metal only use #3 or #5 zipper. The pattern probably says this, but I always try to make my own patterns based on your videos with the size I want. As long as my measuring is precise it works well! haha Thanks so much, cheers. -Baglady

Love your projects! Question: you use shape flex often. Why do you choose that over a lightweight/featherweight interfacing? If it’s woven vs non woven? is it because it’s softer? Also, do you know what’s causing my fabric/project to have a wrinkle like appearance after its interface?Thanks. And thank you for sharing all your ideas and projects!
@marciacarey27933 жыл бұрын
The iron on interfacing makes the fabric wrinkle, best to use sew in. ;)

Hi Sara just wondering about the accent strip for the base of the bag, how wide and long is it? because on the PDF it says it is 24" x3" and when I cut it out, it looks too short. love your patterns and tutorials from Western Australia

@louloubellzz5 жыл бұрын
I love your bags and your instructions. In so many other peoples videos they say you can pin. But I don’t need too. Yike I dislike that. One question I have. You sewed the strips all the way to the bottom then covered it up with more fabric. Was this just an easier way to get it covered or better for stronger structure. I can’t wait to make this little cutie. Thank you.

This was fun! I downloaded pattern and I’m gonna try this. Great Christmas gift idea 👍 do you sell the shape flex or foam? I’m not sure how to get these? I tried buying one at Walmart as example, and dear got fabric was so stiff .. lol I don’t think I know right stuff to purchase. 🙈😂
@bronwyncarr67145 жыл бұрын
Sara doesn't sell Shape Flex or foam. The shape flex she uses is Pellon SF101 and the Foam Sara uses is byannie's Soft & Stable. There are other foam options such as Pellon flex foam, bosal in-r-form or automotive headliner. Hopefully this helps you find the products online or at your local stores.
