Don't misuse the word "literally" because that's simply not the case. Hashinshins approach to "balance"-problems is that of a 12-years old. Thinking nerfing an assassins damage is all that is needed to bring it in line with other champions is retarded. It's like tunnelvisioning to the broad-spectrum of things that influence characters and make them "overpowered". You have to take in consideration what counter-methods are available (items and champions for example, e.g. abiities to out-maneuver certain things etc.) which ALONE makes balancing certain aspects of a champ very difficult. Hashinshin does nothing but twiddle his thumb in his arse, pointing with the other one at the dev team and saying "Yer all dumb, do 'dis and 'dat and everything's fine, ye twats!". People saying that he makes "valid" points or saying he speaks the truth are too lazy too think for themself (or are just being as stupid as Hashinshin). Gotta stop this moron and explain him where he's wrong. O WAIT! people already tried doing that. Guess there's a limit to education.

Yes Riot does this because they want to preserve certain traits. Usually what players comlpain about first is the most obvious strong trait the champion has. They will then go ahead and EXPECT this very trait to get nerfed but most likely Riot will tune something else to not change the champions role too much. So the problem is really just the player attitude and resulting expectations, especially those players who hate everything and care very little for stuff that happens outside their own champion pool... like hashinshin. At the end of the day a champions power is always the sum of their strengths and weaknesses and it really doesn't matter what you tune. Hashinshin is a moron and he shows again how little he understands about balance.

But the fact is some traits just a aren't healthy or just aren't traits. E.g people hate Zoe. But she would get alot more hate if if they did something about the w free damage. I interned at riot 3 years ago while in college. The balance team actually uses a lot of advance game theory and decision tree designs to balance champions. The problem with this approach is it doesn't take inconsideration "making the game fun". That is honestly why it's so hard to balance the game. Once you make one change you indirectly change another.

Her gimmick as an assasin jungler is her absurdly broken tower diving. But instead of making the tower diving weaker, they nerf everything else. Now Elise isn't fun anymore because legit the only thing she'll do in a match is tower dive. If they nerf the overpowered thing (don't even have to fuly remove it. See the part about Ivern as an example), champs like Elise won't be in such a place where she's impossible to balance (either p/b and completely broken, or the worst champ ever).

Yes the game can be a stat check but it would be even more so if we remove the uniqueness of every champion. You want to make league balanced the way you intended it to be? Make every champion Jax. Jax is a Jack of All Trades. However the fun aspect of the game diminishes. Every character can do something but nothing makes them stand out makes the gams dull and repetitive. Now take my perspective. Yes, its gonna be hard to balance. Yes, its gonna have problems every season. Is it fun and unique and interesting? Is every game different? Can you have a whole different playstyle just by switching a character that essentially does the same thing? Yes to all of those. Everybody having a niche role that they can fill in makes the game more interesting. It creates a variety of win conditions and entire comps can change with a single pick. Combos, teamwork, or solo play, everything can work as long as you play to your character's strength. While I do agree that this would take away solo play more, since this type of LoL would require more communication and teamwork, but if you anticipate that then pick a character that works best split pushing. Theres little to no down side to diversifying League except for the challenges it brings to the balance team

to be honest, the thing that makes champions broken or overpowered is their capability to use items to the fullest extent, adc's build crit and or lethality, or both, in order to make the most out of their auto attacks, or few damaging abilities, granted some champions have mass amounts of cc that could be nerfed, but then there would be an abundance of counter play to the point the cc ability is pointless, that's why some champions can do so much with item builds so that they don't have to worry about an ability being pointless, even if the unique aspect of it such as, cc, DOT, Reveal, slow, etc. it doesn't matter as due to how well some champions may use items and the stats provided by them, the abilities are gonna do something regardless, even if someone's stun get's nerfed to fucking .1 seconds, it doesn't matter because that's still giving your ADC a chance to exert the Rapid fire cannon and infinity edge plus storm razors empowered crit into the champion who got stunned, if you take every champion In league then remove items entirely, but added specific things that only each individual champion can obtain to personally increase their capability or usefulness, then technically speaking the game would be balanced, but it's a game with items, minions, structures, champions, and champion damage scaling from those items so, not much point in nerfing the champions themselves, and there's also not much point in complaining, BUT as one who complains daily as I'm an old league player and feel... kind of pissed to see the game as it is, I can't fight the fact that sometimes a little complaining is good.

The E does more dmg than the ult, the ult is useless really, and is easily escapable and is buggy as shit. The E knockup sucks ass, the W no longer scales with AP, the Q SUCKS and means you can't play zac in solo lane anymore. Why were these changes made? Because worlds was coming up when they did the Juggernaut update and thought by "buffing" these champs, the games would be more interesting because of the high level of engage. Only Seju is really viable now (probably because she gets 200 armor and MR with passive and aftershock). They reverted kog, rengar and LB, so why not fucking Zac? His win rate went from like a healthy 54% to fucking 35%, one of the lowest in the games...

As someone that players more league games in a month than most players do in their life, im sure he has a lot of kindred knowledge simply from encountering kindred 30 times this week. Once you try everything vs kindred and shes just shredding you because dmg numbers, I do believe Hashinshin knows what hes talking about.

Look up the game vods from on LS channel about hashinshin. Hashinshin doesn't even understand how his own champ, that he played thousands of games on works. The only reason people know his opinions is, because he voices them loud and often, which does not translate into knowledge

he's done so many great points, but this one is ridiculous where's the fun when champs don't have strengths and weaknesses but all are the same? at least he didn't ask to nerf rengo dmg but his animation cancelling, nerfing his dmg would make him the worst assassin... assassin's need to be able to kill quickly, but saying rengo has no counterplay is ridiculous, there is since the assassin/stealth update 1.5 years ago... people said he was gonna be useless if he gets revealed when enemies get too close... so they gave him unstoppable on his enhanced w, which they removed because being able to assassinate and not get cced was too much, so they removed the part from his kit that didn't fit and zoe is a discussion i don't even wanna start... on low elo people don't play her well enough to be really viable and on high elo i'd expect you to be able to counter her with wards i don't know which guy made a video about balance, but he brought the example of street fighter ever played the first street fighter? me neither... why was there a change to it? because it had perfect balance, ryu vs ken, both with 100% the same moves, 100% fair... you had limited possibilities now if champs are too similar, you also lose gameplay possibilites, so they try to make them different

His point was that riot refuses to nerf the OP abilities to balance them. All champions can have strengths and weaknesses but some strengths are ridiculous and riot refuses to nerf the problem. Zoe for example mid-late has nearly no weaknesses, she can one shot people without real repercussions, for example other mages are immobile, have low range or can’t one show you with 1 skill. Zoe has a huge range and dmg to one shoot you without counterplay, specially if you are not a tank. The reason she sucks at low elo is because players can’t farm and get items fast enough to take advantage of her dmg mid game and don’t play her enough to land the Q’s. It’s just not fun to play against because there is no counterplay when you get sleep from the fog and she blinks and one shots you. That’s a problem that can’t be fixed just tweaking numbers, because either she will be useless or OP, she needs a rework because her whole design is stupid.

so the answers in order: rengo can jump from "far" away, but they nerfed his range with the bonetooth necklace rework and he's revealed now when stepping too close to any unit or control ward... you see what i'm getting at, right? place a non-carry or a non-squishy carry between you and rengo and he's pretty useless tbh or buy control wards and be prepared where he's coming from zoe is actually stronger on low elo than high elo... on low elo skillshot-accuracy isn't bad, but nobody dodges properly so hit-% is higher and zoe can attack from fog of war as nobody wards... every champ is OP in some way, her way is just more tilting than others... keeping her in the game may actually finally get us to the point where people who are first blood and instantly tilt actually quit the game instead of just whining every game about how bad it is... how do i, as a low-gold toplaner who occasionally gets autofilled as adc, goes 0/3 in lane with 20 cs behind still survive rengo attacks? all i need to do is learn to duo-lane and apparently i'd be a god amongst LoL... no seriously, with good wards and not being a frontliner (you're not wildturtle) you can survive most assassins

My main problem is that he says that if they differentiate so that they’re unique, then they’ll never be viable. But someone like akali shouldn’t be able to build tank and still destroy someone in oh, .5 seconds. Can you imagine them giving Zoe enough damage to where she can still one shot, but can gain more armor and make tank Zoe viable? That’s more cancer to me than normal akali or Zoe. Cause I know that if I’m too squishy, the tank or bruiser on my team can as long as they aren’t behind. Also he talked about characters not taking the game over but he also has ranted about how he misses the whole “I can 1 v 5.” ????
