It’s ironic because they are fighting each other for the right to secure a specific future. Some are fighting their friends in order to move on and accept makoto’s sacrifice, in aigis case she’s fighting her friends to see why Makoto sacrificed himself and if there was no other way he could have been saved? In akihiko’s case he’s fighting because he wants to take advantage of the life that makoto gave him and the sacrifice he’s made and move on because it shaped who he currently is. In yukari’s case she loves makoto so much that she wants to bring him back because she misses him. They all love makoto in their own way and have different ways of honoring his sacrifice and they are fighting for either the right to move on and take advantage of the life makoto gave them, or to bring him back and refight nyx, or in the case of aigis, to figure out why makoto sacrificed himself and whether there was a reason behind his sacrifice and to figure out if their was no other choice makoto could have made. Akihiko’s way of honoring makoto’s sacrifice is by taking advantage of the life he has given him and that is his way of honoring makoto’s sacrifice.

@@Oofsylater yeah but I still think the core message would be intact, the answer is suppose show the grief and struggle of the party members and how they struggle to come to terms with the death of their friend and what they all each hope to accomplish to be able to cope with that grief, inevitably they all just choose to move on accepting makoto’s sacrifice, however unknown to them elizabeth is trying to figure out a way to seperate him from the seal without damaging it or disactivating it, in merciless mode when you beat elizabeth she gives you the blue envelop which is suppose to be a hint of the answer dlc, it’s possible that the blue envelop may serve a purpose or trigger a brand new cutscene taking place decades later after the events of the answer when Elizabeth is finally able to release makoto from the seal but that’s simply wishful thinking, with that being said the blue envelop was not an item that previously existed in the other iterations of P3, and it is ironically enough the only real item that transfers over from new game plus in merciless, which if you know anything about merciless it’s the fact that barely anything gets transferred over into new game plus, so the blue envelop being the only thing that truly transfers over could mean that it could potencially trigger a certain event or a brand new cutscene that didn’t exist in the original, or the blue envelop can simply just be proof that you beat the game or Elizabeth on merciless (which either way would just make it a useless addition to the game) if my hypothesis is possibly correct and if the blue envelop may infact a serve a purpose then those who didn’t beat the game in merciless wouldn’t be able to view the cutscene in game but would atleast be able to view it in the games files or on KZbin if they didn’t beat the game on merciless. (But the blue envelop is definitely a strange item that hasn’t existed in any previous P3 game or iterations and while it doesn’t serve a purpose in-game not only does it allude to episode aigis but it could potencially serve a purpose in the upcoming dlc after the story of aigis ends.) but that’s just wishful thinking imo, they did say they will keep the main premise the same as the original while improving on the dialogue, but whatever they decide to do after the main story of aigis is complete is up to them, maybe if they want to sprinkle a brand new cutscene by the end of the game that is an Easter egg only unlocked by defeating the game in merciless then they bassically can.

@@ZStarShadow I mean if you put yourself into her shoes, if you figure out that their is actually a way to save the protagonist that you are grieving for and that their is a way to bring him back then they should not let the opportunity pass by, makes perfect sense because why would you let the opportunity to save a loved one go by if you can take advantage of it at this moment and refight Nyx but come back stronger then ever before? Ik for a fact that if I had a way to bring back my dead grandmother I would definitely not let the opportunity pass by and take advantage of it to bring her back, I mean who wouldn’t want to take advantage of that?! the reason Akihiko wouldn’t want to do this is because he knows how strong Nyx is and that it would be pointless to fight her again because Nyx is nearly undefeatable and far above their league that even with a combined group effort they wouldn’t be able to take down Nyx, it’s like trying to fight a battle you can’t win and expecting to win the second time now that you think you got a little stronger knowing it will result in the same inevitable defeat and in the same situation happening all over again. At the end of day all the characters have unique but very well thought out perspectives, and I think what aigis is trying to figure out is if makoto sacrifice was avoidable or if it was something that was always meant to happen one way or another as there would have been no other way to prevent the fall. Elizabeth on the other hand is trying to find a way to seperate makoto from the seal without damaging or disactivating the seal to keep Nyx in place, if the blue envelop that you get from beating Elizabeth in merciless mode even means anything, it’s possible they could potencially add a new cutscene that takes place decades after the events of the answer showing makoto’s soul finally being freed from the seal and reuniting with his old pals that have long since passed away.

In absolutely no point in the story was hinted that it was necessary to make such sacrifice, nor was it explained why that was the only way. Unless it's explained in the DLC (I never played the original), it's just a garbage way to make an impactful end, in my opinion.

Remember the blue envelope item exclusive to P3R? Well that may lead to or trigger a new Easter egg or exclusive cutscene or ending showing Elizabeth separating makoto’s soul from seal while also keeping it intact many years after the events of the answer. The only people who might be able to see this might be the people who beat the game in merciless mode, the reason I believe this is because merciless doesn’t transfer over anything besides the blue envelop and the blue envelop wasn’t something that appeared in any of the older iterations of P3 meaning it could likely serve some purpose. Some argue that it could also be a way to prove that you beat elizabeth in merciless but idk about that. The other way to view the cutscene is by going into the games files and viewing it or seeing it on KZbin, but I fear it may actually serve a purpose and the only way to view it if you haven’t beat merciless mode is via KZbin.

@@eziarc2080 that is of course if she didn’t run out of fuel by the time that happens, but either way it’s even been stated that aigis has developed a real soul so the soul is taking control of the mechanical body so even if hypothetically she were to run out of fuel her soul would still linger on, it’s also possible by the time makoto’s get freed from the seal he is able to be reunited with the spirit of his old friends that have long since passed away after Elizabeth was able to free his soul from the seal many years or decades later without truly releasing Nyx.

Also it’s important to note that the blue envelope item litterally hinted at the answer illuminating makoto’s path in some way. So it could be a new exclusive cutscene that plays either at the end of episode aigis if you have the blue envelope, or it’s possible the new cutscene can only be viewed by beating makoto’s journey aka main story and the additional new cutscenes gets added at the end of the main story or the end of episode aigis depending on where they want to include the new cutscene, one thing that the Answer in the original FES didn’t do is conclude makoto journey or him being freed from the seal so this cutscene that take place many years or decades after the events of the answer. We know it’s been hinted at that Elizabeth wanted to release makoto soul but it’s never reached a conclusion so we might get closure via the new cutscene triggered by the blue envelope given to you by Elizabeth.

Wishful thinking, sadly. Reload is made for the P5 Royal crowd. Reload doesn't even have Last Resort, which was a huge part of one of my favorite boss fights in OG The Answer. The most you can expect from Reload's version of the fights is a larger HP pool (not even enough to make up for Theurgy), a smaller Skill set, and a few heavily scripted boss-exclusive Skills that add more spectacle to the fights without making them challenging.

That's part of how Persona fans got that reputation of not actually playing the games. And it's not like FES The Answer was even all that unfair, it just required a good understanding of the game's mechanics, which is why I've been so disappointed with how they watered down the difficulty of the series.

Although I love 3 reload. one of the things that wasn't as good as the original game is the in-engine cutscenes vs the anime cutscenes. I've never played the answer but from what I know Episode Aigis looks to have more anime cutscenes than the original answer

You're definitely going to need to watch the anime cutscenes for FES The Answer afterwards. I won't spoil it, but there's a cutscene in the original that was so striking and distinctly the original P3's style, I have serious doubts that Reload can recapture that feeling given their current art direction.
