People underestimate how much unique content Minako has in Portable. It's not just the new social links, her dynamic with the girls of SEES and thus their social links are different, she gets unique events, the Inaba field trip, it's a very extensive thing to do on top of all the new content Reload got. I don't think it would be a stretch to say it would require adding a whole 60 to 70% of content to the game.

The closest I can maybe see for Chihiro/Yuko romances are some kind of small epilogue scenes contained to themselves contemplating their loss (granted they get to know about the MC's passing), leading into a bittersweet scene. A season pass for a single player game is the craziest thing out of 2024. They even said all of this was finished before the game was about to launch, they knew. You could’ve launched the season stuff for free or put it in the game or hell just have remade FES or Portable and the world would keep spinning. But they chose false today. The amount of players defending this, shows gamers these days have 2 games they play for 20 years and nothing else. A sad day truly, but it’s Atlus doing what they do best: scam artists. They know this despite making phenomenal games, truly frustrating

I think part of it was that people were expecting them to release it as its own version. while not the best case scenario (have the answer included at release and not as a DLC) its still a lot better than that alternative; which as much as I love ATLUS I can't say I'd be suprised if they had done that.

The only other remake in recent memory that intentionally excluded content from its final version is Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl...and is that really the standard you want to follow after or look to?
