I like your point about structure. A big reason why I never managed to finish any of the persona games is that I tend to get burnt out by the repetition halfway through and take a break, only to feel completely lost when i try to get back in (like forgetting which social link i wanted to level on each day of the week, when to raise my social stats, what personas i wanted to fuse and which abilities they need to inherit, etc). I mean, it's also my fault for not pacing myself for how long the game is, but hearing that Reload even encourages longer stays in tartarus definitely seems like a step in the wrong direction. I'll still check it out when it's on sale though. I love the characters, music, and overall style of the game. Maybe I can manage to get through it all with the QoL improvements they added 👍

As someone coming from the trails series (this is my first SMT/Persona game) I was surprised how brutal the story could get (at least a 65% on the evangelion score) but also how easy the end game felt, wich is weird because I'm the kind of guy who struggles with trails games on normal, I'm not used to a game straight up giving me a power up to one shot the final boss.

You are truly never going to beat the weeb allegations. I really need to force myself through P3 and P4 but my jrpg backlog is so long already.

I have embraced the weeb I dunno they're just more interesting to talk about, I play other stuff. Feels like the range of most big western titles are like minimum 7 maximum 8, then there's JRPGs which can range from hilariously bad to all time great. More interesting videos for me to make

I do like Ianbits video as much as I expected I would. For the most part, it's a good video, even a great one but something was off to me in a way that's tough to describe. In this comment I'll try to describe it anyway. The video needs to be updated with cute whales in a a much needed way so we can focus on how amazing they are. But buried in the wonder of the video was a diamond ready to be polished: Ianbit video's never miss. If you enjoyed this video you need to like it because every like on this video will supply you with cute whales. And we love those. Give a like, get a whale. EZ

Not sure I agree fatigue was a bad decision, but taking it out and making a snowballing buff system that encourages longer stays does sound rough. I liked having to juggle tartarus visits with the rest of my daily activities and get the best bang for my visit (in the original game). Dungeon runs felt like one of those old shopping spree gameshows for me, where you have limited time to grab all the treasure that you can before everyone's too tired to continue, and it kept me from doing day-long farming missions that dragged so long I would eventually have ended up hating the game. Fatigue was easy to deal with afterwards (visit a bathroom), but I sometimes wonder if this couldn't have been solved better by sticking to the game's lore: it's a dark *hour*. I think it would have been interesting if each night you literally had 60 minutes to do all your work and a clock visibly ticks down the whole time you're inside. This would make visits way more frantically tense, and also prevent the player from ever attempting a dungeon visit that was so long and tedious that they risked getting sick of the game.

I didn't mind the mechanic but I couldn't find a ton of people who agreed even at the time. Its purpose definitely seems to have been lost in translation with the remake, its abcense causes a lot of issues.

honestly i experienced so many of my most significant gaming memories in persona 3 portable that I probably won't ever be able to see P3R in a positive light compared to P3P. Listening to the game's soundtrack, looking at these character portraits, animations and hearing their voicelines feels... off-putting. it's like experiencing a mandela effect, to where something that, without a doubt, exists, feels utterly wrong.
