Jesus christ man, I don't think I would've ever been able to find such contentment in having such a strong attachment to games without finding this channel, never really letting myself believe that just some silly games could or should have a real impact on me, but your unrelenting passion shown in every video you make, especially this one, I've really found so much comfort, and seeing this, I think you've played a significant role in my start towards becoming a game developer and wanting to create videos again. This game and its true ending struck me at the perfect time, nearing the end of a senior year filled with little to no proper socialization because of covid, and your initial jrpg video was what had me wanting to play it for so long up until me finally getting a ps5, and swiftly became the most impactful and most important game in my life. You've done it so much justice here I can't even begin to ramble on about it, and this video really made me feel at home once again. Really, thank you so much for the content and environment you've created on your channel, it's something I truly hold special, and I hope your videos can continue to impact others in the same way. This video made me cry, I barely cry and I don't play that much Persona. but the true passion Yakko has for Persona and how much it impacted him reminded me of myself with games like Monster Hunter or Isaac. Relishing in the music, making school projects based off my hyperfixations, and rushing home to play with friends. Additional the "take your time" is how I've lived my entire life, and seeing that explored in this video really hit me hard. Thanks Yakko, you blow me away every fucking video.

I'm actually a little mixed on Royal's new content. the Third Semester is really good, but I feel like the themes start to conflict with what P5 Vanilla wanted to talk about. honestly, the Third Semester is such in interesting topic that I'm surprised that they didn't save it to use for Persona 6.
@phillemon76643 жыл бұрын
@@MythicMachina it never conflicted with what P5 wanted to talk about, escapism and revolution never go hand in hand. The most important thing we learnt about this video is that Yakko is a Makoto man, but besides the joke I think this is one the best videos I've seen on Persona 5 Royal, everytime I hear the music I instantly get a rush of emotions remembering everything I did and saw in both my playthroughs that it makes me feel nostalgic about something that I played a little less than a year ago. I think one reason I found that p5 hit home the whole idea of "you can't do everything" harder than the rest is because of how it handles Joker. In persona 4 and persona 3 especially, even though the message is still present, the protagonists have so much control and talent it felt to me like more of a power fantasy than a situation to relate to at any level. In persona 3 and 4, the protagonist is frequently put in a position where they are supposed to seem better than the rest of the team. With Joker, he felt like more of a natural part of it. He wasn't credited for solving every problem in the social links, and he didn't singlehandedly lead the thieves to victory against the final battle of Royal. Joker CAN'T do everything. He can't solve all the problems, he doesn't master everything immediately, and he can't stop the villain by himself. It's a humbling kind of relatability that brings a lot to the experience for me

Loved your “Awakening” segment. It looked a bit silly, but there was self-irony to it, and the effects looked really solid. Plus, it’s nice to see someone invested in a game enough to make these sorts of fun little sequences. I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one who was touched so deeply by P5R, and especially it’s Third Semester - it really made me take my life more seriously. I can also relate to that part about guides worsening the experience - I remember my P4G playthrough not being as fun as it could’ve been because I read up on bosses ahead of time. And the “channeling a story you recently finished experiencing everywhere in your artistic exploits” thing too.

2:33 Will confirm, even though I haven't played Persona 5 (yet, I need more free time before I commit to finishing it) Rivers in the Desert is still one of my favorite boss themes even after listening to it for at least like 30 hours in total which is longer than any one person should listen to any one song. Even after using it as motivation to study/cram for tests and projects, I STILL love that song. At this point I firmly believe that Rivers in the Desert is one of the only video game songs you can listen to infinitely without hating it after long enough.

I had never played any persona games before, but I heard about them and thought I'd enjoy it so I bought a PS4 just so I could play persona. I finally tried Persona 5 Royal in February and I'm still playing it now. I've been in therapy for a few years and doing trauma therapy too. I've had panic attacks and anxiety, and fear of being around lots of people. Futaba's story felt so similar to me, especially because I was her age when my anxiety problems started. It's really amazing how this video game can feel so personally moving to so many people. It's not exactly the most deep or profound game but seeing these characters overcome their personal struggles to find themselves and their own inner strengths, gives me a lot of inner strength and motivation too. Of course it's also a freaking fun game too! I think it's so cool you made an lit comparison between persona and other works of fiction and I'd honestly love to hear what you compared it with!! Loved the video as always!

Totally agree on Yusuke’s story hitting harder bit. I’ve played both Persona 5 and Royal multiple times but on a recent playthrough I found that Yusuke’s confidant hit so incredibly close to home. Over the years since my initial playthroughs I had begun to take writing more seriously and Yusuke’s struggles over his true passion and creativity being hindered by monetary gains and productivity resonated with me. And the fact that I could find new nuance and appreciation for a game I have sunken hundreds of hours into already just made me love Persona 5 even more.
