Persona Q2 is HORRIFYING

It's always interesting to me that the Q games are like 90%-95% fun hijinks with the Persona crew and the rest is a sudden focus shift to the miserable shit-show that is the life of whatever poor soul that gets introduced as the new character for that one game.

One thing I like about these games is the system of taking a character and their life (and misfortunes) and turning it into the dungeons and locations. It’s so creative and very Psychonauts esque

I love how with the P3 cast having generally more heavy baggage on them than the p4 and p5 casts are able to tell Akechi is struggling with his demons as well and all of the characters with more of the sorrow backgrounds try to give him some kind of encouragement about it without asking for more information or drawing too much attention about it. Ken and Koro and especially Shinji are such genuinely amazing interactions and Akechi the perfect ace detective fails to understand such strong and cryptic words from Shinji which are as straightforward and honest as you can get. Really shows just how deep down the rabbit hole Akechi is to the point where he cant even understand any other path than what he's already made for himself.

Props to Goro in this game. While everyone else was giving it their all and fighting with all their might, Goro was holding back, crippling himself on purpose just to "fit in"..... I imagine that at anytime, he could have whipped out Loki and wiped the floor with any mob/boss in this game in a heartbeat, but he chose not to. It takes a-lot of restraint to resist the temptation to give in like that, good on him.

In hindsight I think the game kinda pushes Akechi hiding his dark side a little too much. Like, everyone that meets him is like 'Oh you got some nasty baggage, huh?', at this point he'd probably start wondering if Joker put a 'hug me' sign on his back.

These games really need a re-release on Nintendo Switch! But this time with the characters from Persona 1, 2, 5 Royal, 5 Strikers and the upcoming 6, it's parent franchise Shin Megami Tensei from 1-5, new dungeons, new storylines, an option for English voice acting among other languages, changing subtitles in different languages, new Personas, the ability to skip cutscenes and so much more!
