I've always tried to define what the difference was in how western and eastern companies work and you nailed it. Branding versus sales. Long term thinking versus short term. Great stuff.

A great example of this is .. Japanese Cars .. Toyota’s and Lexus’ .. as opposed to German Cars .. Volkswagen and Porsche .. Volkswagen & Porsche have smaller catalogs and strong brands. Toyota & Lexus have larger catalogs and decent brands.

First time in a long time I paid attention to an entire Chris Do Video. This is Do doing OG Do things. One reason I stopped listening to some of Chris's more sales-related advice was I felt that it wasn't as applicable in the market I am (Asia) - and I could be wrong. But in this one, his content is a notch above, and can be applied, in whichever market you're in.

Dear God, yes please. Make that video. Your thoughts on business for creatives is pure gold. As an aside, the idea of making your own brand will help you (the audience) in the event of a round of layoffs (because THOSE don't happen in this day and age), as you will have a tribe of people that know you and engage with you. You may even be able to avoid the entire "talk to a recruiter" process and just get a meeting directly with the person doing the hiring, based solely on your reputation from your brand.

I'd like to take my channel and have it be a place of inspiration to others. I'm a wannabe graphic designer, long-time musician and producer. I used to teach music theory, but have come close to giving it all up to become something else. A permaculture farmer. I want to buy a small property cash, stay as debt free as possible, make our own food and build our own home. I would like this channel to be inspiration for young people (anyone who wants to do this kind of thing, really) because I believe the world needs this more than ever. I want to give people hope and value through what I learn and share with my audience. So that video... would be wonderful. Your channel is awesome and I love the value you bring to my life. There's a Netflix doc series on Beats: The Defiant Ones. I enjoyed it. Dre and Jimmy created the headphones. They hired headphone companies to design headphones they liked. They listened to 100s. Jimmy was both a music engineer and a music producer (which is like an album director). So they are experts, really. And entrepreneurs. This doesn't change anything to do with personal branding

People wouldn’t buy it as much as they did, if it wasn’t for Dr Dre personal branding. The relationship he created with the audience especially the black community, and they were the ones also playing sports especially basketball and who owned the fans? The musicians and the athlete’s.
