I absolutely love the look of a mature phal orchids that are allowed to grow wild! When you get them from the flowershop they almost look artificial with their staked spikes, but the way you grow them you can see their natural charm. If phal orchids were rare every hobbyist would go wild for them, but because they are so common we become desensitized to their true beauty.

Your Phal Anna-Larati Soekardi is in fact a Phalaenopsis Liu's Berry, it has been mislabeled :) I grow both the Liu's Berry and the Anna-Larati Soekardi, Anna-Larati has a very different blooming pattern, upright, less dense, with more reflexed and thinner petals and sepals that have more of a pointy diamond shape. The lip is also different. Gorgeous blooms! The one at 16:32 is likely Phal Tiny Melissa / Ivoorkust / Ivory Coast (many names for it ^^)

Gorgeous! I actually love the noid phals that you can find anywhere. There's such a huge variety of unique orchids out there now. Hearing you talk of fragrance so much makes me hugely regret not buying the scented noid mini I saw last month. It had pretty boring flowers, but it's so rare to come across scented orchids where I live.

Hi. I am from Romania too. I don't know if you speak Romanian so I will write in English. I saw your channel recently. I have orchids too but mines are a little neglected due to lack of time. Especially the phalaenopsis but in this spring I repot them and I will try to keep the watering. Thanks for bring up the love the orchids. I bought a cattleya and I am trying to saving her and I think I will buy more of them from a nursery. I saw that you have a second channel. I don't know if you know the trick that the water from your aquarium is very good for your flowers. In that way you can use that water you throw away. It has a good temperature, the ph if you use plants in aquarium will be near neutral and has a lot of nutrients. Just be careful in winter because some plants don't need so much nutrients. The water has nitrate but also it may contains a lot of phosphorus. This is great not only for bigger bloom but also intensive patterns and colors. I use for 2 years now and I have success not only on orchid but on other plants too. About 4 months I fall in love and bought cataleya and marantha. From my knowledge they are sensitive to water and they put a lot of new growth and even my marantha looks like he wants too bloom thing that is rare. Good luck and many subscribers.

I’ve been binging your videos. I picked up a phal recently before looking into things. I’m coming from bonsai tropicals so I’m use to some of this. I couldn’t find a video here about what to do with broken leaves or leaves with brown tips. Repot and better water habits from the store now so hope it’ll come back stronger. Thanks.

The phal little gem stripes in the U.S. have more red pedals. I wonder if it’s just a camera/lighting effect or if it’s just a regional variation all together. Thank you so much for this orchid show! Been following since 2018

I have been looking for help and found your channel. I recently repotted my Phalaenopsis in a clay pot which I wanted to increase slightly in size from the ceramic it came in, but it immediately went limp and stayed that way. I could not seem to get enough water in the pot to help it so I stuffed it back into the ceramic pot and it perked up right away. It is too big for that pot and I wondered what the problem was with a clay pot? I am reviewing your previous posts for help. Thanks for any comments and love the channel.

It seems like the clay pot was absorbing water and evalorated it so the roots did not have enough moisture. I personaly do not like clay because roots tend to attache to it and they break when I repot them.

@@VioletaGhermanI'm new to transplanting too and I just had a plastic pot that it grew through the slits and I didn't know what to do so I cut the pot apart and got them though the slits I was able to not sever as many as I would have had I not cut that slit pot up. Can you tell me a better pot to use As I now need another pot for it like yesterday lol 😂 I had to put it in the second one of those I happen to have since It had out grew it I don't want to do it again and I need a new pot Thanks for any advice I like your comment and figured you knew a lot more then we do lol 😂 Take Care Shey

I had the same issue when I repotted one of my phals in a clay pot. Clay pots are porous and wick moisture away from the plant

Lesson learnt. Perhaps in your environment clay pots evaporates moisture too fast.

Wow those are gorgeous I would love to find the first one and the last one you showed with the lace edges that is gorgeous.. I now have 4 one my husband bought me years ago It's not bloomed since I've managed to keep it alive and going with no information So now I hope to get it very happy and blooming soon Nit sure when it will bloom as I didn't know about a cool down till this year! Oo! Yay! Phals!! ❤️😆 I know they are the most basic of all orchids, but I still enjoy looking at their flowers a lot. Just seeing them makes me really happy 🥰 I have been watching a lot of your videos lately since I just started growing orchids. We have only Phals right now, but your Tolumnia advertising has kind of gotten to me and I want to have one 😅 It's really tough to find them though! And I don't want to order them from Ebay or Etsy or anywhere from outside EU 😩 Luckily I was able to find one nursery (Schwerter) from Germany that seems to be able to get a Tolumnia to me. I ordered something called "Tolumnia Jairak Flyer Red Cherry"(, and I have no idea what flyer/firm even mean btw). In any case I really hope by June (or at some point this year) I will have myself a lovely little Tolu, as I like to call them 🙏

This year my normal size phal grew a very short spike, as short as a mini phal but with normal or a bit bigger than normal size of flowers.. I don’t know how it happened but I adore it’s compact display.. Now I realize I don’t like the classic flower shop feature of them, long spike with 10 flowers😅

Phal Taisuco Jasper is amazing and so unusual 🤩 that’s my favourite because I haven’t seen it before. I have a few mini Phals too coz who can argue with how colourful and joyful they are ❤ the Phal ‘Shiny Girl’ at the start is second choice. Does the yellow fade on it? I find the yellow with red/magenta lip I have fades (possibly the Hornglin Moore) - but it’s so good when it first opens

My phals are doing so badly. No green fingers i guess. Due to the recent extreme heat we've had where i live, I've had loads of yellow leaves, crown rot etc😢

I just notice something chewing on my orchard leafs I am79 how do I get rid of what is chewing on my orchard is it nats ? I only have 5 . I had many more years ago, but hurt one Katrina and lost my home . Since we moved into senior living subdivision my grandchildren gave me for different ocassio s help I am forgetting things. I love, my orchards 🙏

Here’s an odd question if you’re cultivating orchids for. Cut flowers how’d one prepare the blooms so they last the longest in a vase ( for example roses are best cut partly 1/3 open in in morring an are best collected in a bucket to minimize air in the stem an cut under water to keep the flower well hydrated an last the longest ) I’m wondering if there’s anything specific for orchids if your planing to use them as cut flowers ?

Hi, Orchids generally don’t make good cut flowers, they don’t last much. Dendrobium Phalaenopsis types tend to last a bit more and some Vanda types, but you don’t see others that much in arrangement simply because they fade very fast :) maybe Phalaenopsis spikes last 3-4 days, for a wedding bouquet it works

Hi Danny, is it normal for a phal orchid to sprout 5 new roots at the same time? My first orchid was in bloom last year when I bought it, when they died off I cut off the stems and it hasn't done a single thing since, now it has FIVE new roots. I was really hoping one would be a flower spike but so far none :(

i just write the names on the back of the leaves with a permanent marker , you never loose a name tag

I don't think there is such a thing as an ugly Phal. bloom. Even pure white may not be flashy but still elegant.
