Freedom is not the toughest path. It is just currently unpopular, because of public opinion. But once gone, you will see how quickly public opinion will change. The problem of course, will always be getting it back. That is where the difficulty lies. All the effort is upfront, all the rewards are at the back end. Therefore it will have to be done for your descendants. With selfish people, next to near impossible , with out responsible.

When I was an active alcoholic, I blamed everyone and everything for my woes, and never looked in the mirror to find the solutions to my problems. The more I perpetuated my own victimhood, the more resentful I became. I had to accept the role I played in the hardships I caused others and myself if I were to ever get sober and take responsibility for the wrongs of my past. Very well said, when I made better life choices, everything got better for me, I recently just closed on my house in December of 2021 I've worked hard for many years left drugs and alcohol alone and life got better. But it did not happen overnight it was a process. When I realized that everything that was happening to me was because of my choices my eyes opened up and I realized I wasn't a victim or oppressed in any kind of way. I was just making stupid life choices anyone can do it but it takes hard work. Like Larry Elder said you get out of life what you put into it, and hard work wins.

You, me, or nobody is going to hit as hard as life. But it isn't about how hard you get hit. It's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! But you gotta be willing to take the hits and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, her, or anybody." Truer words were never spoken.

We as human beings, and more specifically American citizens play roles throughout our lives; these roles entail both rights and responsibilities. When you are a kid your patients have a responsibility to raise you to be a healthy, moral, and functional adult, and you have a responsibility to take care of them in their old age. Both you and your parents are in a social contract, just like every son and daughter or father and mother. You also have a responsibility to your community, county, and even to the human race, and in that order.

I'd wager the person who said that quote meant "people shouldn't have freedom unless they behave exactly like me." Freedom doesn't mean you should do everything you want. Freedom doesn't mean you have to do everything want. Freedom doesn't mean do whatever you want. Freedom means you're allowed to tell yourself no. Freedom means you're allowed to tell yourself yes. Yup That's great! Been saying this for years. Responsibility, Ownership and Authority are as one. When you have one you get the others. When you reject one you lose the others. Responsibility cannot be forced upon anyone; it has to be taken voluntarily. When you blame others you are abdicating your responsibility, ownership and authority also. You become a victim, prisoner, and slave to that which you blame. When some people see others taking responsibility, gaining ownership and authority over something because they worked hard to get it, they complain they don't have it too and say the other person was born with privileges' or opportunities' they were not. It is simply not true. Anyone can claim responsibility over their thoughts and actions to the point they can accomplish anything they really work for. There are many examples where the only thing going for some people are their own thoughts and they turn themselves into great people accomplishing great things and remembered forever.
