Hi, I am very new to growing roses and have a question if anyone wouldn’t mind answering please ☺️ If I was looking at buying a shrub rose that grew to 5/6 feet and I didn’t want it to grow that high, am I able to keep it trimmed to the size I want (3/4 feet) or would this damage the rose whilst it is growing? Would I ideally need to look at a rose that only grew to the size I wanted? Hope that makes sense! Thanks for all the wonderful reviews Ben, I’m learning so much and you have given me lots of ideas for what roses I would like to grow. Only rose I have in my garden at the moment is a Clare Austin which for the last 2 years I have been trying to train to climb a wall…I am now going to buy an obelisk and let it do its thing after your advice! 🤗
