Loving the content. Do you think you can make a video on the essential equipments to have as a mobile personal trainer
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I may cover this in more detail at some point in a future video but I tend to think less is more when it comes to mobile training. I think it’s a good idea to have a set of adjustable dumbbells to leave in the car. A few sets of bands are very useful. A stability ball, mat, sliders, and maybe an ab wheel are all other things to consider too. I typically don’t recommend more than that though.

Found this very helpful. I’m thinking of doing in-home training myself, I’m a kickboxing trainer and strength and conditioning specialist. I have one question if you don’t mind. What’s a basic assessment that can be carried out for in-home clients? Obviously I am not able to to do 1rm lol.

Not sure if you'll see this but just want to say that I've learnt more from your channel than my pt course lol. Appreciate you putting all of this out (for free!) I wanted to ask, it might be a silly question, but do you do consulations at the clients' homes when you are doing home training? Would they not be skeptical about having someone come to their home? I'm considering starting with in-home training as i can't afford gym/studio rent yet 😅and i think theres a gap in the market in local area for in-home training. Sorry for the long question.

Thanks for the support! I really appreciate the kind words! I have done a good number of consultations in clients homes. I’ve never had any issues doing those consultations before, but I definitely could see how it would freak some people out. I think the people who are opposed to them just don’t end up doing in-home training. Luckily, lots of people don’t care too much. I think if someone

Jeff do you have a video showing what to do with injured clients? I have a girl who has a tear in her shoulder she says , it happened over 3 years ago and she didn't have insurance to get it rehabbed or surgery, she has an S-curve scoliosis, and a herniated disc😳 it's really stressful for me because when I show modifications in one area, the other area hurt. So I do splits...lower body, upper body, total body, then conditioning/metabolic sessions
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough case but I’m sure you can work around all of that! Focus on doing a lot of pulling moves in particular. They’re lower risk for the shoulder. Keep exercises slow and controlled. I would also avoid loading up her torso too much Ex. barbell moves. That would depend on how severe her condition is though. I’d keep core exercises to mainly isometric aka static moves too.

Hello sir thank you so much for video.What will be workout split when we training our clients at home ?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 жыл бұрын
I alternate the split tbh. A lot of times I’ll do total body. Other times I’ll do upper and lower body splits. It really comes down to what I think would benefit my client the most. I think it’s good to change up your splits with each client on occasion too. This just helps to keep things fresh.

Hey Jeff what do I do if some of my clients muscles are strong but others are weak? For example one of my clients can’t do a plank because his Abs are strong enough but his arms aren’t strong enough.
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 жыл бұрын
The only thing you can do is modify things. Try the plank off of the elbows if you haven’t yet. Even if they can’t do it for long it’s still worth including. If that’s too hard have them start with very easy seated core exercises first. Even seated core exercises done from a bench can still be effective.

How much more would you charge to go to someone’s house?
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation
@SortaHealthyTrainerEducation 3 жыл бұрын
I recommend that trainers charge an additional 25% (or something close) if they’re going to be doing in home training. It takes up more of your time and that’s important.
