Yes sir! Everywhere I have worked, I have been the only black healthcare administrator. It's important we network to build relationships to learn from each other. Thank you for your support and please let me know if you want me to discuss a certain topic.

Integrity matters. I texted and worked with friends of mine about funding, fda study populations, lis, gut health and delivery… the overlay to large funding, interoperability… society as a whole. The statistical models surrounding incremental fractionated improvement… so easing, homeostatic world. It’s just so many people and moving parts. It’s quite amazing really. Sure, some bumps along the way… but many people caring and working to keep my family safe… sheesh… and, wanting better… above all else… caring. I hope and pray the recovery from hurricane idalia is better. I know the health systems need some love, as we all do…

Great video, I also have a similar background. I served in the Army as an orthopedic tech, then I went to nursing school before switching to healthcare administration. I still have a year left in my program but i'm excited to begin my new career. Thanks for the information.

Is it possible to do a day in the life or what to expect, I feel in this field a lot of people don’t talk about it and I really appreciate the video

I’m a medical student contemplating leaving medical school for a career in healthcare administration. If my passion isn’t science/medicine, opinion on pushing through anyway accruing 400-500k of debt for the MD behind my name? Big question, I know.

Hey Austin, I can tell you firsthand, do not go into something you have no passion for. There is good money in being a physician; however, I see it all the time when physicians are still unhappy even though they make half a million dollars a year. A degree is always a good thing, but turning your passion into a career or business is fulfilling. Don't go into debt for something that may not be your life purpose.

Thanks a tonne for the video.. It's of great help specially for freshers in this field.. I want to ask one question that what prior skills apart from clinical work experience and good communication should a student have to place them at an advantage as compared to their peers..

Have a bachelor's degrees in Healthcare administration, Business, Health Information Management, etc. Alot of these programs have online options and can be completed in about 1 year if you work hard.

Eddie did a great answering your question. A good way to get into healthcare administration is to work for a small practice and learn the entire operations. I have learned the value of joining professional organizations like MGMA or ACHE will create opportunities for you to network, learn and take certifications to sharpen your skills and knowledge.
