I got MMC Carnifex a few days ago, and I'm really impressed with it. Especially considering it's a mold that is six years old at this point, but feels like it could have been a current era release. I'm not a fan of the original heads that come with it, but the current reissue comes with the Continuum upgrade included right out of the box, and the extra head sculpt included in that looks absolutely awesome. I still prefer Fanshobby Double Evil as my MP-scale Overlord of choice overall, but you can't go wrong with either of these guys, and I definitely intend for Carnifex to become one of the centerpieces in an upcoming diorama I'm making.

@@PerspectiveEnd I'd say the Continuum upgrade can make him a pretty convincing G1 Overlord if you apply the upgrade kit, at least in bot mode. It even comes with Godmasters. Personally I've only used the extra head (because I think it's just a way better sculpt), and the chest plates, because they help break up the colors on his frame a bit more and make it look bulkier and generally more impressive. I agree with your brother's take on the original headsculpt, to be perfectly honest. :P But still a very cool design overall. The only MMC design I've seen so far that I liked enough to actually buy it.

I have always wanted to get a ROTF Sideways toy. Don't ask why because I don't know. He was a nothing character but his toy just looked so cool to me. I have finally gotten one on Ebay. He was in a 2 pack with another figure called Blowpipe (a nothing character but good looking figure) and I was able to pick them both up, sealed for $80 Aud all up (26.80 postage was pretty annoying but I don't care). Unopened and sealed, I am so happy about this. Seller was very nice about it and hopefully in 2 weeks, they shall be mine!!!!

I still need to get a Rung for my Lost Light Crew. I did just get Chromedome and Rewind from MMC, though it took two boxes and left me with a spare Chromedome as the first one BBTS sent me had everything but Rewind. They were really awesome about it and just sent me another after showing pics to confirm the mix-up. I've been pretty impressed at their ability to make functional wheels and stable feet from the same parts tbh.

So, have you seen the new images for the MP Skyfire (Jetfire) and the 86 Arcee? And if so, what are your thoughts on them? I definitely think the MP Jetfire looks a lot better than he did in the prototype images. As for the Arcee, I gotta say I really do enjoy how they have her underside look in her vehicle mode. Her chest actually forms into the front of the car and her head hides away. Her legs can still be clearly seen, but they’re transformed in such a way that it almost looks like the pipes you find under a car. Let also not forget how posable she is. I wonder how you’ll end up comparing the 86 Arcee to the Thrilling 30 Arcee.

Pharma went crazy first because he felt inadequate next to Ratchet, plus he was stuck on a backwater outpost where he felt he was too good for it. I’m making this a separate comment the main reason so you actually I’m at least 80% certain you’ll see it P, but to answer your question on how I’d rank BW’s first season, 8 out of 10. Like I said it’s a very well written show the only thing I take issue with are the graphics, I think my problem is that the characters aren’t really convincing in their surroundings. I understand how they blew their budget to make character models twice but I seriously couldn’t get the uncanny part of my brain to shut up. Also this is kinda back towards Arcee but putting her next to something I know you own and just something that’ll help me be more specific about her hight, she comes up to about where the joint is for B movie Soundwave’s FUPA or just his waist joint in general which I found kinda funny. Wave is definitely 2/3 leg. Also I should probably mention that her white plastic isn’t a presten (did I spell that right?) white, it’s kinda yellowed and I know you don’t like that but I kinda prefer it. I don’t think the “creamy” white plastic yellows and me personally I prefer that mainly because my SS86 Jazz has yellowed like a motherf*cker and now I’m scared for my B movie Soundwave. I think that’s why Hasbro uses that type of plastic since in 2020 they couldn’t really get their chemicals for white plastic mixed right and as a result many white figures have yellowed horribly, you said you haven’t seen pictures about B movie Ratchet yellowing? Well just wait a little while and the reports will be everywhere just like Shattered Glass Starscream. Not really important but I just felt like I should be a little more specific.

Hey P, this isn’t really related to the video or my progress on Beast Wars, although I finished season 1 and am a couple episodes into season 2, but somehow I found the Bumblebee movie Arcee and let me tell you, this figure is GREAT! Looks amazing, possibility is great, I can’t really comment on transformation or vehicle mode though because I don’t want to risk the joints to become loose, happened to my Legacy Arcee, the weapon storage is kinda dumb but passable, she’s bigger than the B movie Cliffjumper (and I guess by extension B127 which is the one I have)!but smaller than ERcee, just let me end by saying this I don’t own the other B movie figures yet, because distribution is STUPID, but I’ve seen reviews on all of them and from what I’ve seen and now owning Arcee myself, this is probably the BEST of the B movie figures.

Alright, no relation to the video but I had to tell someone about this. So recently I noticed some paint chipping on the roof of my Legacy Laser Prime figure in cab mode which seemed weird since it was on the black part of the cab and not the transparent windows. This made me take apart the figure to see what parts of it are painted black vs molded in black. Weirdly the roof of the cab is molded in red plastic then painted black. My best guess for why they did this is so in robot mode the separate piece that makes the thrusters on the bottom matches the red surrounding the thrusters. To me this seems so stupid since they could've just molded the cab in black and painted the parts that needed to be red, and they probably would've saved money doing this. But this is the more normal part. Turns out for some reason that the sides of the robot mode that connect to the chest cover are painted black instead of molded black. I'm serious, if you look at it you might even see some paint chipping. Besides that the rest of the figure is about what you would expect… Is what I was going to say except I noticed the hands were painted blue instead of molded blue so that made me check the rest of the blue on the figure. The head and feet are painted blue instead of molded blue. I don't know what's going on with this figure!

I think the point is to NOT be fine with the characters death. The viewing audience needs to know that their heroes aren’t safe in their environment so I feel like it would have hit harder for kids if one of the main characters died. And like you mentioned with Primal and how they eventually bring back a combined Tigatron and Airazor, they could just bring said character back although I think that would kinda make their deaths pointless. I don’t really know if I’m making much sense honestly. Yeah maybe you’re right about judging Dinobot too quickly, but I still do think that Kingdom with how they showed him questioning his loyalty and the Predacons morals constantly, his death in that does feel unnecessary though. Like I said before, I think I have anyway, I haven’t gotten too far into season 2 yet due to things around my house and me unknowingly starting another binge watch, don’t know how that happened, it’ll probably be a little bit before I finish Beast Wars fully. I forgot to mention before, but you’ve at least gotta agree they did Terrasaur and Scorponok dirty by killing them off in the literal first 5 minutes of season 2 episode 1, especially in the way they just threw them in lava, I mean seriously? You’ve at least gotta agree with me on that.

What I was saying was not that Airazor and Tigatron were the safe choice, I'm saying there was no one they could suddenly kill off without it feeling like a slap in the face. Tigatron and Airazor included. And Tigerhawk is not the Resurrection of Tigatron and Airazor, but their further death. Just cause a new person was made out of their corpses and memories does not mean that person was them. That was a new guy. They were dead. Get ready for Primal to be the only character they resurrect. Some times they may fake you out, trick you into thinking someone's dead, but except for Optimus 1 time, if someone Dies in Beast Wars, they are dead. Unless they are Waspinator. At which point they can die infinitely and be fine the next day. Here's the thing about that, Yes they did those two dirty, but it was done in the name of Waspinator living. Hasbro gave them a mandate. Either they Kill Terrorsaur and Scorponok, or they kill Waspinator. And I think they made the correct choice. And while yes it did them dirty, I do like how much it shakes up the show. The Maximals are no longer out numbered, and the Predacon fliers cant outnumber someone in an ambush any more. I wish I had more time with those characters, but it is ultimately an interesting development in the show.

@@PerspectiveEnd the transformation is ok, articulation is alright (even though I still think it was a bit lazy for takara to not add an ab crunch even though I see at least 4 ways they could’ve easily) and the feel is fine. I have a hard time putting my finger on what about him isn’t doing it for me. I’m currently trying to hunt down Magic Squares Soundwave on EBay as I love legends scale stuff and maybe a soundwave I can carry around with me is what I need.

I haven’t really really noticed the backgrounds changing in BW probably because I wasn’t paying that much attention to the backgrounds after, I think, episode 15 and I haven’t gotten too far into season 2 because I’ve been busy. But I will say this, they did Tigatron and Airazor dirty. Why the actual f*ck did they basically kill them off 4 or 5 episodes into season 2 when they were only in like 2 episodes not even for 10 minutes. I already know about their “resurrection” later in the show because a few things have been spoiled for me when it comes to Beast Wars because I thought I would never see it. Also it seemed like their relationship only seemed to have been hinted at in that episode. Hell why did they even kill them off in the first place?🥵 I had to get that off my chest. Dude, I was honestly expecting Arcee to be smaller than Cybertronian and VW Bumblebee, which I own both of, but she is still taller than both of them.

What's funny is as a kid their Relationship felt so much bigger, like it had always been there, not just implied the moment before their deaths. That's the thing about being kids things just seem to be grander. And I know it's shocking that really messed me up as a kid, but now I can appreciate it, for the tension it builds. Beast Wars isn't safe, bad stuff can happen suddenly and change everything.

Yeah I understand why they killed them off to say that the Beast Wars isn’t safe, but I feel like they used the completely wrong characters for that. Primal’s death was probably a better example of that. I feel like that if they wanted to say no one is safe then they should have killed someone else like Rattrap or Cheetor or Rhinox, Hell maybe even Dinobot. Also I’m going to say a VERY unpopular thing to a Beast Wars fan but I really don’t see the reason why you love Dinobot soo much. From all the praise towards Dinobot I’ve heard from not just you but many people I was expecting a very complex character personality, a character who is always saving the day and just being a badass, but I didn’t get anything like that from Dinobot. Hell I think the Kingdom Dinobot is better and I’m sorry to say that but there was just soo much more internal conflict from him than the Beast Wars variant. Like to me Beast Wars Dinobot was just straight up evil no questions asked. I think it just comes down to the fact that I’ve seen and read better character stories that had the same concept. Again sorry if I offended you or any other Dinobot fans by saying that but I don’t get the appeal towards Dinobot, and I even know what he does in Code of Hero and still I don’t think he’s redeemed. Out of the entirety of Beast Wars, Code of Hero was the only time that Dinobot was actually a hero. Again sorry, I also think that all the praise towards him over hyped me and when I actually saw it I was let down.

Primal Came Back though. And who could they have killed off suddenly when everything seemed normal and had it been fine? Inferno Maybe, but he's a bad guy. Cheetor, Rattrap, Dinobot, Rhinox, no one would have been easy to see die. I think you are under selling Dinobot, likely because of an Impression his first few episodes give that you weren't able to shake, which I totally get. They clearly didn't quite know what to do with him early on or how they were going to characterize him. I don't love Dinobot because he's a hero, a character doesn't need to be a hero, or kick all the ass all the time. I love Dinobot because he was an incredibly Flawed individual who struggled along his way, but ultimately did the right thing even though he knew it would kill him for the sake of other people. It wouldn't mean anything if he was always self sacrificing, always saving people. If that was the case it would just be what he always does. Him choosing to fight and die there showed how much he had grown as a character from the selfish bastard who only joined the Maximals out of Necessity and Spite, to someone who would lay down his life for people he didn't even know. Code of Hero isn't the only time he ever acted like a Hero, it was when he BECAME one.

Tricranius looks just like an awesome fire king with a combination of red, black, and yellow, and he's a slight retool of a boring figure. He apparently can shoot Baja Blast too, otherwise why would his blast effects be colored like soft drinks? Soft drinks are agonizingly bubbly, they're too sweet, and they hurt my throat. I hate them. I like these IDW designs, they're so much like the old CHUG. But these figures man. These things ain't my territory, I would never buy a toy taller than 16 cm, and these are too expensive. Nickel is the cutest thing I've seen today, that face and chonky body is so irresistible, but she's still a member of the DJD and deserves either a thorough Grimlock smackdown or a life sentence. Thunderclash is not cool enough to replace Optimus. He looks like a dollar store knockoff. That color combination is awkward. Yet he's presented like he's the coolest thing ever. I don't understand. I wanted to buy a sea themed toy to celebrate Johnny Depp's victory, but I ended up buying an accessory pack for the gacha SD Gundams and two Battle Cats (the mobile game) figures, one is three cats on a box of bananas, and the other is two cats in a pea pod. My RX-78-2 Gundam finally has his beam saber and bazooka. I can give the heat axe to Core Optimus (looks tiny on him but it works), and the other bazooka is generic enough to be held by a random figure. I have no damn idea where to put the huge dober gun though. The next day I bought a Tiny Turbo Changers Sideswipe (the Bayformers one). Sideswipe is my favorite character among all of the Bay movies. Pretty much the only one that looks good besides Shockwave, Optimus with his faceplate and Grimlock, but I wish Bay Sideswipe could swap between having actual feet and roller skates, that way his gimmick isn't hindering. Oh dammit. Core Iguanus hasn't arrived in my country yet. I probably have to wait for an entire month for him.

Thunderclash is extremely gaudy. Man I was so SICK of hearing about that Trial EVERY day after a while. I think the Sideswipe design would work better with any color at all, like how cool would he be with some red or ANYTHING. Sorry to hear that.

Jesus Christ- MP Arcee is so strange looking. I definitely prefer the MMC one over the official one. And since it seems like Takara is starting to make MPs good again, with things like MP Skids, hopefully we can get a much better MP Arcee 2.0, that isn’t a load of overpriced BS that has poor engineering. Though, I gotta say, MMC needs to work on the faces of their figures, such as their Arcee. It just looks..off. Though again, it’s much better than the MP Arcee.

I really like MMC but the Springer face is one if not THE worst face I've ever seen. It makes some FansToys heads look like 100% accurate and direct translation of the cartoon model. I want that figure, but the head is a flat out dealbreaker for me. Also with a bit of work, the alt mode of Tesaurus should be the alt mode of B-movie Soundwave. Am I the only one?

I will say some of it has a problem with holding the viewer down and dousing them with that, but a lot of it actually isn't. Like Arcee is Transgender in that not to have any kind of Representation, but because Simon Furman is a PSYCHOPATH who hates female transformers, and he was trying very hard to make sure they couldn't exist in the setting. So he made it so female transformers didn't exist, and the only way they could is for male cybetronians to go through a procedure so horrific it would turn them into an insane serial killer. This brought up other issues like they just couldn't write a Romance in the IDW comic with out it being a gay one, since women just didn't exist in it. It took them most of a Decade to just say Screw it, and retcon that female Cybertronians did exist just not on Cybertron and no one remembered. So some of it is Wokeness, Some of it is Writers wanting to write love stories but having a monogendered race at their disposal, and some of it is the opposite of wokeness, Weaponizing Transgender against the very concept of having women in the story.
