At this point, Toyota should just make a high power V6 petrol turbo.... diesels have become so over complicated due to emissions.

Currently have the LC 300VX, the 2025 model has nothing that would want me to upgrade. The lane assist is dangerous when towing a caravan. We’ve had the tailgate automated and use a Bluetooth dongle to give apple carplay.

Here in country Vic the lane assist would drive you mad when all you are trying to do is miss the potholes.

Will be interesting to see how much storage space will be gained in the centre console with the deletion of the CD/DVD player. Some extra cubby storage for odds and sods is desperately needed.

The dream 300 series for me would be a GX with factory diff locks. Utterly annoying Toyota don’t offer that.
@MakingMoneyyy8579 күн бұрын
Factory diff locks are weak AF. Better of buying harrop or ARB
@motorsportfreak19 күн бұрын
@ that’s pathetic if the case. So let’s be honest, all chinese specials 4WD’s have diff locks, plus all the Thai made utes (Hilux, Ranger, Dmax, BT, etc) have factory diff locks on most specs. Basically every 4wd on the market bar the 300s (less GRS) have diff locks. And you’re saying the GRS at 155k+ drive away has weak lockers. Epic fail.
@MakingMoneyyy8579 күн бұрын
@@motorsportfreak1 uuum ohk, bro what are you on about. I didnt mention anything but the 300. Ohk so only the GR come standard with front and rear lockers. If you ever have owned a cruiser 100s 200s. The TJM harrop and ARB lockers are killa. Why the $%$& would you pay 10k to get the GR badge just for the lockers when you can have a quality and reliable aftermarket lockers installed. Even the suspension kits they try sell to ya is shit. Go get a remanufactured aftermarket brand like kings coils or superior. Way better kit than factory. Guess its Time to drop the kids of to soccer mate. Dont think you know what your talking about tbh. Chill dude.
@motorsportfreak19 күн бұрын
@@MakingMoneyyy857 nah I saying it’s pathetic that 155+k GRS has weak lockers and all the other 300s are open diffs when a China special 4wd has lockers lol
@MakingMoneyyy8579 күн бұрын
@@motorsportfreak1 yea bro. Its a selling point on most utes i think, you could chuck cardboard in the diff but as long as you can wrote it in the pamphlet it sells car. Tbh lockers are not needed. Most 300s are staying on the tarmac anyway so it aint a cherry on top. The toyota ones arnt baaad but if your going to pay for them buy the best ones if your hardcore. Go check out the 300 series factory bullbar, It aint even 1.0mm thick and its bolted together like a ikea set and they want 3k for it. Haha and people buy them!

I had a DMAX with this system. It was down right DANGEROUS. I could set the cruise control, engage the lane keeping, and take my hands off the steering wheel, and it would Auto Correct to keep me on the highway. What if I dozed off?

Sounds like toyota went to Harvey norman and bought a $1000 worth of tech upgrades I had a 300. Absolutely hated it. Why? 1.tailgate. 2.position of fuel filter 3.poor plastics under the bonnet which are loose 4.aluminium panels “drum” in heavy rain. 5. Touch sceen is akward tonreach too LH corner 6. Awful cruise control-sluggish to respond and when it does kicks back too many gears and so youre well over the speed limit when you crest the hill 5. Lane departure is just awful to the point of being dangerous 6. Turbos flutter. 7. When on cruise control the vehicle will brake/tuck and self steer in corners like you are drunk. Its not a landcruiser its a prado with a v6 diesel motor. (As now proven with the new prado model) Ive owned (and still own a 45), 40,60,80,100,200,300, 5x 70 V8s, 75, 78. Best model wagon? 80 series factory turbo. Best ute? 70 series 2006 factory turbo. Recently i bought an SR hilux tonsee if incan live with the 2.8/auto. The good thing about this spec (mines grade) is gou have to turn the safety suite on eg lane asist. It doesnt beep/ding/vibrate Will i ever buy another 70 or 300? I doubt it. The track width issues is lazy engineering and under the bonnet of the 4cyl 70 is a dogs breakfast. My 200 series with a zf8 speed would be way better than the 300

Sorry but after owning 2 x LC 200's the LC 300 is not appealing to me. Particularly not for towing. It has zero road presence and unless you buy GR Sport can't even get KDSS. Gone is the muscular look and could be mistaken for a generic SUV. The only difference between it and the new Prado is the engine. Pricing is ridiculously high and time to consider whether this vehicle is a value buy at all. The new Y63 Patrol will show what the LC 300 lacks in all departments. Yet the die hard followers will blindly follow the Toyota brand based on past history of reliability not even checking whether it still holds true. Even if you were convinced this is the right vehicle, good luck finding and buying one. You will of course pay full price as demanded by Dealers.

I have two 300.series. 2022 Sahara and 2023 GR. Both are great vehicles, but to be honest, I think the spec in VX is the best value in the range. Lane assist is dangerous when towing, and the DPF is pain in the butt. Also, the need for service intervals every six months is just BS.
@gureno195 күн бұрын
6months is probably too long to leave it with the miniscule sump capacity and 0w20 oil 😂
