It took a while for me to get used to it, but once you do it's quite rewarding. Top tip for tapping in drilled ground crosses is not to try and aim, just shoot neutral with analogue released and the player will guide the ball on its own momentum to the best place in the goal. Works 90% of the time.

I love advanced shooting but my only problem with it is it makes low finesse shots obsolete and at a certain point you realize it's much easier to just spam max power low shots into the bottom corner every time

I tried advanced shooting a few years back but there always seemed to be a delay in the shot being taken, so it was snuffed out. Might have another go, if my fingers are fast enough. It does give you more to do in those frantic situations

I've been using this mode since you dropped this video. Im enjoying it a lot. But a lot of frustration early on lol I mean a lot! Ended up blowing the title away I was playing in masterleague when I changed to advanced shooting lol After 3 hours of struggling I went and practiced it in training and got way better doing that. I recommend training, I'm now scoring the best goals I've ever scored in this game. They look beautiful

@@SpoonyPizzas I only moved over to pes in 19 properly. And since 20 I've been playing FUMA. But this is just way better then manual shooting. I still use manaul shooting in game holding left trigger to initiate it, I find it useful at times and especially for headers, I score a lot of headers with left trigger manual. I believe the players reaction is better.

Also one of the main reasons I switch to advanced was to pull off some low power dipping shots with high aiming that can loop over the goalie. Gonna submit some of those goals to goal of the month

Stellar stuff as always Spoons. You always find a way to make content on something we always wanted to know at the back of our minds, but probably never bothered to look for/ask (if that makes any sense) 😂. I tried advanced shooting in pes 2018 with moderate success and didn't know what I was doing wrong until I saw this video. I had one question. Chips from distance has always seemed rigged both in fifa and pes, I've tried it for years to score from 30-40 yards or beyond. But trying to lob one over the keeper rather than using the finesse shot or creating situations where the ball would go over the keeper if he's off his line. But it looks like it's achievable with advanced shooting. Can you try a few? Won't mind a video, even if very few actually went in. Looking for a goal like the one Totti scored against Inter at the San Siro (2005 or 06) in a 3-2 away win. I'm pretty sure you know which one I'm talking about. Good luck mate!

30-40 yards? No chance, not on Superstar or Legend. Maybe against Neurer cuz his player ID sucks and takes him out of goal lol. Would advise using finesse shot over lob from that distance

Personally I find the shooting (advanced) on the PC to be extremely random which I kinda like tbh because it keeps you guessing. Compared to PES 19 where I could put the ball on a penny pretty much 99% of the time although you have greater control it becomes a little predictable because I know what's going to happen before it happens and as a result gets a little dull over time. However, my leniency regarding the randomness of PES 21 could be to do with my old age because if I had experienced this randomness when I was 10-15 years younger I probably would have stopped playing and attributing that to the shooting being 'broken'. I think I'm a lot more forgiving in my business years. But I can't help but love the context of 21 in other words; the play, the build up, the 'feel' - the jostling aspect and close contact/positioning is so immersive so much so that the inconsistencies with shooting seem somewhat irrelevant or if anything actually complement what's happening to the point where I'm left muttering to myself after I blaze a lightly tapped shot over the bar off the back of a mazing run into the box "...that's football" and to point, it is. You see 15-20 years ago when I would play friends and 'scripting madness' would happen and my controls were hijacked by the computer to aid the other player and as a result my players would do silly shit or the controls and play outcomes where just generally poor or inconsistent my friends would always smugly answer "well that's football." and I would quietly fume to myself 'no it's not it's a game and because it's a game I should have 100% control all the time!' but now I've come full circle but only because of Konami's ability to subtly weave these bits n bobs into the game now more discretely and realistically to a point where I am happy to accept what I would have called 'deliberate' outcomes. So a big credit to Konami for that. So even if the shooting is somewhat wayward it all somehow works within the context of everything else (This of course is all based on offline single player) I don't think there is any need to discuss the dark side to this game here. Anyways, overall the shooting is a bit of a miss-fest and knuckles are so random it's not even funny. In fact I have a modified team and 8 of my players have the knuckle card and I could do a 1000 different types of shot over the course of the match and still not get one knuckle. I know it's no longer double tap but I have tried to refine it down to no luck. I do the double knock on ...doesnt change anything, I have ran straight .. nope, coming from angles ... no change... big double touch ... no consistency .. in fact the only consistency is balloon over the bar. If someone knows how to knuckle at a very high consistency (as in at will) then I would happily pay you for that knowledge!

Great videos, thanks. I am new to PES and your videos have been helping. Is advanced shooting something I need to enabled or is it really just pushing L back when shooting? I tried a little in training mode but not much success. Need to practice more I guess. The "circle" to kind of aim also doesn't show up for me. Perhaps because it is not enabled or because I am using the "alternate" controls mode? I get so frustrated when I miss easy goals...like just me and the keeper 😄

You can enable target /circle in the match screen menu in-game. I'd start with basic shooting, which is probably the best imo

I have a lot. So it really depends. There's ultimate/complete defending tutorials. Cover the basics and advanced bits....or chance creation tutorial. There's passing tutorial. Just avoid top 3 skills/dribbling tutorials. Once you mastered the basics, super cancel is life changing. Gives you full control

I just a month ago started with PES 21 and I have been FIFA player since 2005. I will have to say that PES 21 is the one that made me feel like I am playing real football. You need skills to achieve anything here. It’s not like sticky ball on your feet and you run and shoot. PES is seriously more advanced and it also feels super satisfying when I score a goal because it makes me think I have put some hard work to achieve that. Ball physics is also far superior and it feels like a separate thing unlike FIFA where it just goes with you wherever you go. PES 21 is indeed superior. Thank you for this tutorial. It really helps :) Bw efootball (PES 2022) is not looking that good. Hopefully it’s not what we all think it’s.

In master league (I didn’t observe this in other modes), I am struggling to maintain players stamina. It’s coming down so quickly after just 25 minutes of the game. I used manual shooting in 2016 & 2017 - FUMA is incredible for 9 - 12 months but after a while it gets a bit boring, especially the shooting - just blasting shots in because why use finesse? Also, dislike the fact that it ignores stats - so why sign players with high passing/finishing stats. Advanced is probably my favourite now.... but it is a bit easier to hit the target and scoring feels easier once mastered.

Hey Spoony..I play on advanced shooting and understand the concept of pulling back on stick for low shots and vice versa. What I struggle is wanting to aim high..my shots always go over no matter if shoot with as little power as I can. Does the amount of tilt on Left stick have any say on the elevation? Also, how would you aim if you wanted a high shot in the MIDDLE of the goal? It's hard to wrap my head around holding Left stick UP or DOWN -- Like does that effect Elevation or Direction? So dynamic cam, if you push directly up you'll be aiming to the top left corner. Directly down and you'll be aiming at top right corner. Then power will decide how high it'll go depending on distance.

I always preferred the basic shot option, as I had more control of my shots. I once tried to use the advanced shot and I messed things up. But surelyyou have more options with the advanced shot. If I had the opportunity, I would play some games with that type- of course in low difficulty, as I always to when I want to try something. Pity I don't have the PES 2021... What I can tell you now is that you first need to check if your players have this special trait in their stats card (if they don't, they are not able to perform it) and I propose you to watch the relevant PES 2020 tutorial in Spoony's channel for dipping/ rising shots, as they are performed in a similar way. I hope that I cover you properly.

Thanks I will try it asap! :) I remember in an older video you did not recommend it because "it was too easy" - and I did not even try it because I am fine with basic shooting. However watching this video and seeing that you can see the target it makes more sense to use it as it is "not just a feeling" of the controller anymore. Like in case of manual indicator. I give it a try but yes the "only" thing to get familiar to it as with basic shooting you likely aim toward the goal and not only left-right because it would be "too much". I play BAL and my finishing is just 73 right now and scoring many goals with basic shooting on Superstar. I will check if it works fine with "bad" finishing stat too and not worse. With low finishing shot I do not aim too wide on basic because I know I would miss it (so around diagonal). With advance it does not work anymore unless going for low shot. Let's see. :) I hope it will be more fun and not just "exploiting a tool". Scoring was fine on basic too. :) EDIT: I tried it in game and practice. Yes for my safe not that precise shot I have to shoot always low shot unless I hold the little bit "left/right" aim with my finger steadily during the shot which is difficult. For that purpose I prefer basic shooting because I can just hold forward until the "wall" and fine tunning the amount of left/right easier - I rarely use full left/right aim especially with my 70-73 finishing player. Well I am okay with the low shot anyway as I almost always shoot in that range with basic - sometimes I dare to rise it. :) I may give it a try though why not. EDIT2: I could score with finesse shot in the top corner from close range with the same power I did with basic shot but with basic it would have gone low but same goal. At least I can see not only low shot. Unless I do not do rather higher power low shots as recommended too. Hard to say which is better for low finishing stat player yet. I need to avoid max left/right aiming unless it is not close range and finesse shot. It was much easier with basic yet as I could release a shot from 17-18 meters and hit the target even if it was saved but with advanced it is more difficult to not aim too wide (unless it is a low shot). Different perspective as with basic shot the power bar is not "power" while in advance it is. Overall more freedom with advanced for sure. Basic shot is more simple only need to aim and elevation but no power - sometimes AI can frustrate with the adjusted bad power but I know it wants the best for me to hit the target haha. :) I do not really want easier goals either. I already scored a goal with a curved finesse shot into the top corner which would have not been a goal on basic (as on basic I would have not pressed the power bar that high). It looks like easier to hit even the top corner with less power than with basic. Need more experience and find out which is more fun to me. I like the fact that power bar is truly a power bar so if I want to hit it harder it is just up to me. :D Aiming the heading feels more fair too even if it does not hit the target. With basic it is up to the AI if it is go down or not (I developed Heading skill card to get it better). I have not scored an angled shot yet when I pass the keeper the aiming will be probably weird. With basic I simply aim toward the goal but with advanced it will be different.

Maybe it’s me but the shots feel very delayed and when I cross it in whether in air I’m literally tapping and tapping the shot button to head it and the player just isn’t jumping or jumps so late. And on ground crossed I aim and hit the shoot button and the ball just hangs out at the players feet then he decides to flail at it and miss it. EVERYTIME. I do the same thing every shot as the cross is making its way to the player on the ground I aim and hit the shot button to hit it first time and what happens every time? He juggles it around his feet and misses the kick. Like I am hitting the shot button once when it’s on its way and another time when it gets there and 5 million more times and he’s not shooting till he finally does and misses it. And headers they never hear the ball. And when I try to shoot when I’m being closed down they take so long to shoot. Their foot goes back well after I hit the button and it goes back so slow that I can only shoot in tons of space. My experience with it has been very negative and unnatural. Maybe I’ll go back to manual or just practice more. I don’t know.

ADVANCED SHOOTING!!! Shoot+direction before player kicks the ball.. Press shot +left or right then press down key/key facing directly towards your own goal for low shots. Shot +left or right full power for top corners. Shot +left or right+R2 =Rocket shots "full power" Finesse shots inside the box!!! Move diagonally towards keeper press R2+shot +down key (key on d-pad pointing directly towards your own goal.)for low finesse shot. If u r parallel with goal press R2+shot+down at the same time then and either left or right. Or R1+R2+shot +left or right. Chip shots L1+shot+left then press right L1+shot +right then press left Or L1+ shot only with directions L1+R2+shot only .(u may add down key) Empty goal Shot only (with no direction) Headers (shot with no direction)or aim ur header diagonally down back across the keeper towards where the cross is coming from.

The ability to do low driven shots is the only reason I'm tempted by advanced. I read somewhere that if you press the through ball button just after the shoot button on basic shooting that you can do a low driven shot. Don't know if that's correct as I haven't had chance to play for quite a while to give it a go. Anyone know if it works?

Hitting the through ball button after shooting is how you do the move they brought in for '19, the "fly pass" or "fake pass", can't remember exactly what they call it. But anyway, you can power up a pass, cross or shot then hit through ball and instead of cancelling it switches to a through ball. I used it quite often when they first brought this in, but I can't say it makes any real difference and never really gazumps a defender whether they're an AI or human controlled one. If you are powering up a high powered shot you can switch it to the through ball at the last minute so they look like they are going to thump it, then just dink a through ball instead but thanks to poor response times due to the typically terrible servers, that's damn near impossible to time right in online matches.

Spoony bro most of the Bundesliga star players like Reus, hummels, halstenberg etc are not present in PES 21. But they were present in PES 20 as free agents at least. What can we do to get the official Reus, hummels etc? I installed PESunites option file and got all the teams kits players etc but the faces of most of the Bundesliga players ( Reus, Hummels etc) are fake. What to do?

Nothing you can do mate. The scans are no longer available. PESUniverse did a great job making them look fairly real but again, still noticeably fake.

My only problem with advanced shooting is the finesse shot, it only works inside 6 yard box but outside 18 yard/ at edge of the box you won't score a single goal out of ten attempts. Even if you edit a player with long range drive ,midrange culer,99 finishing ,place kicking & 99 shot power +precision or you can't score a single finesse shot outside the box on advanced shooting even with a 99+ rated player. Try ur luck in training mode and see how many u can score out of ten attempts.

I went back to basic after few hours practice + match as with my 73-74 finishing player the fully wide left/right aim simply does not work. With basic I almost never aim fully into the corner (if I do I got the same miss) and can score against best keepers but it is very difficult with advanced even if I want a low shot. Basic clicks to me pretty well so I stick to it. But I clearly see that with advanced it is much easier to go for top corner goals as it is just the analog while with basic it should take lot of bar and I always stop naturally at a point that I get a little bit elevated goal. :) Maybe I will come back few season later above 80 finishing or I will elevate more with basic to have more fun (with higher finishing there are more options). I am more of an efficiency guy than artist though and superstar in BAL is just cruel enough to go for the result - and a normal goal is still satisfying. ;)

Advanced shooting used to be outstanding, but in both last year and this year's PES it's absolutely borked. 90% of shots go wide of target, even easy ones under no pressure. The analogue sticks on the PlayStation are not good enough to use fine, granular control that Konami have switched manual shooting to now. Beforehand it was was much more forgiving, now it's borderline useless because if you hold in all the way in one direction, something nearly impossible not to do, it always goes wide.

Going to copy and paste a reply :) - I used manual shooting in 2016 & 2017 - FUMA is incredible for 9 - 12 months but after a while it gets a bit boring, especially the shooting - just blasting shots in because why use finesse? Also, dislike the fact that it ignores stats - so why sign players with high passing/finishing stats. Advanced is probably my favourite now.... but it is a bit easier to hit the target and scoring feels easier once mastered.
