I love that kind of weather for fishing. I don't think it matters what grub fishermanally uses, he will get them regardless! 🤣

You're on a surf catching hot streak. Boy!! The weather changed greatly; fog- but the fish like it ! New grub looked good. There many selections out there now. Firmness to stay on hook; yet with good tail action would seem to be the goal. Motor oil with red flakes, color!

Thanks again my friend. Just got lucky again hehehe! You are absolutely correct, Tail tell the tale. There are many grubs selections now that are as effective.

What part of Pescadero Beach is this? Where i went it was FULL of seaweed/seagrass :(
@fishermanally3 ай бұрын
This was North side. Yes, sometimes lots of seaweeds on this spot. You need to time it when the swell a few days before is at least 3ft. Tight lines.

is fishing rod and reel extremely important in surf fishing? if so why?..... I've done crab fishing with snares only, im new to surf fishing... I figure I try a new hobby for perch/surf fishing, I read people talking about what fishing rod and reel to use BUT i figure LURE is more important that anything else... not?
@fishermanally9 ай бұрын
IMO, Rod & reel are vital components for certain species you're after. When i Bait and wait, I use 9 to 10 ft Med to Med light rods. Because , when Stripers bites ( Med rod) i have enough back bone at the same time rod tip bend not loosing the fish. Lake or river stripers VS Surf are totally different beast, the tides are a big factor of loosing fish. I also uses Med rod for Lures 8ft due to my built, I'm 5'8. Lures are absolute the main reason why most anglers are successful catching fish, the right bait or presentation is the "Reason for a good Session" sort of speak. For Surfperch, My go to rod are 7'6 to 8' rod Med light, all these are paired with either 3000 series or 4000 reels. Main Line: 15# to 25# Braid. Buy a reel that are IP67 ( Ingress Protection level). Salt is not very friendly with out gears. Hope this helps. Remember, I'm not an expert of this field. All these are just my opinion and Experiences.

Awesome work brother! Looks like you didn't skip a beat with that grub slayer. How do you compare it to the charlie ones you normally use texture wise? Is it more of a soft plastic?
@SpeedingSideway2 жыл бұрын
FisherManAlly gave me a few to try as well, and I will say these ones are a tiny bit tougher and last a few more fish than the slider’s grub. With that said, the tail still sometimes get bitten off 😅
@fishermanally2 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother man. Both grubs are very effective. However, the Slayer is a bit fatter tougher than the CB. I also noticed, the Slayer has a tail that moves erratically enticing of which i'm guessing drives or enticed Surfperch to bite. Texture wise, i didn't noticed much of a difference, they are both soft. I highly recommend it, not only it is a Veteran owned business, it work. Hope this helps.
