Pesterquest is a semi-canonical spinoff game for a Webcomic called Homestuck. Homestuck has flash animations despite being a comic and an original soundtrack to go with them, many of which songs are unused in the comic itself. This song was originally released in volume 10 of Homestuck's soundtrack but was unused and repurposed in Pesterquest. Explaining what Homestucks about would take way too long and goes against the point of the comic as it's a very long story that you're not really supposed to understand going into it. It's well worth reading but can kind of be hard to get into without someone to help guide you. Speaking of which, if anyone wants to read it I can happily explain how to start. Also if you value your sanity stay away from the fandom. It's where all of Homestuck's bad rep comes from.

Homestuck music is DMCA-proof if you want to listen to it. Lots of bangers. Toby Fox aka Mr. Undertale himself worked on the music for it in ages past. Don't even try to understand Homestuck. That's it's meme: "Let me tell you about Homestuck". It's a really goddamn long webcomic with games, videos, forums, and an insane and hyper dedicated fanbase that has been around since the early internet days. If you delve too deep you won't come out.

> Don't even try to understand Homestuck Seriously. It takes _at least_ two read throughs to fully understand the plot thanks to time travel shenanigans and non-linear storytelling. And honestly, non-linear is putting it lightly.

Hey, never too late to give the comic a chance. If you can soldier through the slower early acts it develops into a really good story, especially right in the middle. And the comic's music is like 90% bangers. (Don't read it on the official website, though, there's a much better unofficial offline version of it. The official website has had broken formatting for years and it's gotten even worse now that flash is dead).

New here! Going through your channel and WOW I've never seen someone actually reacting firsthand to Homestuck music. I know this video is a little older but I'm hoping that you take a look at more of the music. This is from a game spinoff of the comic Homestuck, so I dont think you'd actually listen to the comic's music which is... genuinely unfortunate because the soundtracks from that are almost all absolute bangers, BUT I hope you pick up more of the music from Pesterquest and Hiveswap Friendsim, which are both essentially 'friendship dating' games based off of the characters (though Pesterquest is significantly more meta in a way that really only makes sense to people who played the game and read Homestuck), both of which are made by the makers of Homestuck! I recommend giving 'Roxy's Theme 2- (Even In Death)' and 'Nepeta's Theme- Requiem', which is a very personal favourite of mine.

I think I got a comment spam-filtered because I had an URL in it. Rephrasing to avoid that: This is a remix of a song that was originally called "Beatdown". The first couple mixes of that are tracks 20 and 22 on the album "Homestuck Vol. 1-4", which you can find on Bandcamp. That version's not VGM, but you might try it sometime on your own time.

It is technically VGM since Pesterquest is a visual novel. Though that is a _very big_ technicality since the song actually predates the game by about four years. It _also_ predates the character that it's named after, and its original title is Beatup.
