Well, it's okay but doesn't reveal anything much of interest from the original recording or that wasn't done better in the Boys' own Dance Mix that came out in 1986 or, even more starkly, in Shep Pettibone's Mastermix that is the last track on the first PSB Disco remix album released in the same year. File under 'Inessential and could have done so much more with the original multitrack'. Maxis, if you are going to remix a recording that has already been remixed many times by others, you'll need to bring out something they didn't. Pitch shifting, multitap delays, modulation FX, autopanning, drastic filters, radical rearrangement of sections & parts... these are your tools which you've employed to better effect previously.

I have all the original 12" remixes and all the updated versions - I even likes the "New Lockdown Version" but there is only so much you can do before it becomes overdone - When the boys (Very Old Men) do it it's OK it's their music, but do they need some dude in his basement mixing it.

I don't agree with your opinion. Specifically, it indicates that it is a multitrack remix, that is, it reverts the song with the original sounds, allowing many sounds that work together to be appreciated in another way. PSBs have many layers of sounds to create their songs, for example It's a Sin, and I don't think it is necessary for them to add external things to work better, that is part of the beliefs of DJs who use their own bases in countless remixes , and they end up creating all the same. That was killing the single releases of several groups. He is reversing the songs like in the 80s and 90s and many of us like that much more.
