Oh my. I think I know where this is. The old Nature Conservancy "Murphy's Preserve" off of Stunt Road? It was the place I went to as a teenager to escape from suburbia and connect with nature. My bucket hat list would be to go for a hike with Kevin. But on my turf here in NorCal. Because, we have better hiking here. But the Santa Monica Mountains are definitely good places to hike.
