My father worked at AEC in the 1930s to the late 1960s apart from the war years. He would have been so thrilled to see the work you are doing to restore these beautiful buses. We lived behind the Hanwell bus garage and I saw many buses from there over the years. Well done and continue with the great work.

Great effort guys, I was cheering the old girl on to haul herself out of her rather soggy bed. I loved driving them in Central London (137’s Streatham Hill to Oxford Circus) in the 6 months prior to their decommissioning. They offered them to the drivers for £2,500. This made me admire the Cummins transplant. It awakened really well and has a very AEC like tickover. It's a great motor you can set and forget and removes a lot of worry with running these things. Love an AEC but running with a Cummins makes sense these days. I never knew they had a surpentine belt 😯. What a modern touch for an RM(L). @@PeteAndHisBus Amazing really, I need to stop looking at eBay for buses after watching your videos 😂. I was quite taken with the comment you made in your video about people giving you grief for advocating alternative uses - on one hand it is a shame to see the original interiors and fittings lost, but more important the vehicles are saved and used. I guess there are only limited uses for an actual bus with 60 or so seats….
