Hey Pete! Been watching your videos for a while now, it's really one of the very few channels on youtube that I can enjoy all day. I just got my first ATV (some cheap noname brand) and I'd like to ask you if it's normal that you feel like you are sitting "too high"? I'm used to cars, sitting as low as possible to the ground and now the ATV feels weird. The size is similar to a Raptor. Should I get a lower ATV or is that a normal size?
@PeteHager4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my videos! If your new ATV’s it’s definitely wise to start out with a lower horsepower machine until you develop the muscle memory for more performance. Almost every ATV has its own feel when you sit on it, some feel top heavy and some feel low and stable. Normally it doesn’t take long to get used to a quad, it’s just important to feel it out before pushing the limits. The raptor has a taller, top heavy feeling when compared to most 450’s. If you bought a cheap machine it may be a wise to only ride it for a little while. Then you can decide if you want to invest in a more mainstream brand. More mainstream brands like Yamaha and Honda have tons of aftermarket parts availability to improve all aspects of their performance from handling to power. If your leaning towards the 400 class then the Suzuki Z400 is probably the most capable out of the bunch. The Honda 400ex is also a super reliable machine and an awesome starting point for new riders. Obviously there’s tons of great ATV’s but parts sourcing is easiest with the most common brands like Yamaha/Honda. Let me know if you have any other questions 😊👍
@boothps4 жыл бұрын
@@PeteHager Thanks for answering! This is my first bike ever, never rode one before, so I got a cheaper one in case I crash it. It's mostly for chilling/riding around in my city, enjoying that "free" feeling a bike provides, not trying to ride hard or fast, or hitting the limits because my limits are very low haha. I just had to ask that question because your bike seems tall too but you make riding look really easy. I guess I just really have to get used to it slowly. I'm still taking turns slow, trying to feel the bike and the stability of it. Yeah, I'm saving money to get a Yamaha Banshee or a Raptor (still for city ridings) if I'll get better at riding. I really like the look of the Suzuki Z400 too, thanks for recommending!

Alright gents been wanting to get back into riding again. Its been 20 years or so I am in my mid 30's I have always wanted a banshee since a kid but prices for the ones that aren't clapped out are up there. So between a banshee, yfz450r, and raptor 700 which would you drop coin on. I will be doing some dune riding, trails, and would like to mess around on the auto cross track a bit just novice riding. I want something that is not gonna beat the shit out of me so my young daughter can ride along at times with me and reliable. Honestly any three machines stock will be plenty fast for me I think. Suggestions? budget want to stay under 7k to 9k (little trailer included) all in....
@PeteHager4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you’ll be riding a bit of everything with this machine. I have zero experience with Banshees so I can’t help you there unfortunately. When it comes to 450 vs Raptor it really comes down to your needs. I almost got a 450 first but decided to get the Raptor after more research. They have an excellent reputation for reliability and are very versatile machines. They’re very easy to lug around at slower speeds as well. Their main drawback is higher center of gravity and they’re a bit narrow from the factory. I’ve seen countless comments of guys saying they widened their raptor and upgraded to aftermarket suspension and they say it handles just like a 450. I’m excited to make these changes to mine and see for myself. I still hope to get a 450 though, they handle on rails and are much easier to jump with. If your gonna keep the machine on the ground and stay off MX tracks the raptor is gonna be hard to beat, especially with modifications. Hopefully someone chimes in with some banshee insight 👍

@PeteHager4 жыл бұрын
I have 3 gopro Hero 7's. I use the Hero 7 over the Hero 8 because the protective lens cover is easier to change on the 7 and now and then I'll have one crack on a ride. Typically my batteries last 20-40 minutes depending the temperature. I swap batteries when I get down to the 50% mark. I have a ton of cheap amazon batteries, like 15 of them. I'm happy with the camera's, just make sure you update the firmware in them if you buy one
