I have a '24 Renegade XXC 1000R and a '24 Sportsman 850. I have to be honest... the new Scrambler is the ugliest damn thing I've ever seen. The Polaris is the better trail quad but if you can keep it above 20 mph, the Renegade is amazing. It's also fantastic at the dunes. With paddles it will destroy modded Raptor 700Rs (also on paddles). The Renny's power steering isn't as good; it seems to remove the assist above like 10 mph so no matter what steering is always heavy. If you want a trail machine, I'd pick the Polaris, particularly the Sportsmans with Active Descent Control. But if you ride hard, the Renegade is hard to beat.

Before watching. Simple difference: YFZ is for tracks and racing. Raptor is for trail riding and everyday outdoor fun. It has reverse which is a huge help. I've owned YFZ 450's, Raptor 350, 660 and 700.

Yea NC and Sc will not let you. I bought a lsv golf cart at our house in sc I am selling it man to slow and can only go on roads 35 or under waste of 16 k. I miss the old days use to ride roads find trail after trails now it’s all sub divisions etc. Cali is lucky they have way more places to ride. I started racing on raptor 600 funny how ppl say you can’t race them it’s all how you set them up it ran good on Mx tracks. I blew it up on a race at Sandhills track and moved to Honda trx450r same deal stock 450s are not race ready need better suspension arms swing arm axle stabilizers wheels and tires lost goes on. I sure hope the laws change and they allow us to street legal atvs. I don’t want to have to buy side by side but looks that way quads are so much more fun.

Hey Pete great video quad looks great. Just had a question my yfz450r an arms have some play back and forth at the bushings and my rotor and sprocket have some play as well do you know what this means and what I should do? Thank you.

@@Ron-f1w thanks for checking out my video! I forget if the YFZR has grease zerks on the a arms. I would add some fresh grease if they have some play. Your rear end may need some maintenance. Sounds like your sprocket/rotor mount hubs may need to be replaced or maybe your carrier is loose too. It would be good to get the slop fixed as the looser it gets the faster it’ll wear out. If the machine has a lot of hours you’re probably due for a rear end refresh. There’s a lot of YFZR groups on Facebook that can help with these questions too 👍

For me high speed wheelie are always have been much easier , the best wheelie machine I had was my ltr 450 , for me shifting without clutch in wheelie have make it much more easier

Hey Jonny, I sold this machine to the Brewer Offroad Channel. After upgrading the suspension on the Raptor it really became my preferred quad for "free riding". The torque makes it super fun and user friendly and the stability is much more predictable now. The YFZR is an epic machine. However it's a very on/off quad and doesn't run the best at low to moderate RPM's. It's also not very comfortable to ride in a putzy manner. It wants to attack and it's absolutely perfect for aggressive riding and track riding. Overall the YFZR will always be superior in handling. That being said, I had multiple machines when I decided to sell it. It was kind of 3 in line and rarely being used. I sold it knowing I would get another one eventually. My build was pretty simple and it would be fun to set up another one. I'm hoping for 2026 Yamaha has yellow 70th anniversary special editions 🤞🙂

Really recommend st joe state park in park hills Missouri u'll love it worth the drive I wheelie around the sand flats and charge up the hills on a Polaris predator 500 it's a beast

@ Dyno Sessions generally are around $300-$400 depending on the work. For that cost Jay will go through your entire RPM range and dial in the machine. If you know carburetors well, then it's not 100% necessary but the only way to optimize your fuel injection is with a dyno. You can always call Illinois Powersports with any questions. The gap widens miles buy adding jumps. The bigger the jumps, the wider the gap. Two very different machines. Big jumps will destroy a raptor.

This Has been My biggest decision for awhile, Paperwork is good to go on either one I just need to choose, I like quick rips and drifting corners but will take a trip to the dunes one day, live in B.C Canada so most we have are woodsy trails and we also do have a local track, Im 38 now though so I aint so Young...currently got a banshee and predator 500 but want to add 1 of these, tough decision....

Hey guys 👋I'm interested in buying the DRW skid plate that Pete sells and also available from the DRW website. I'm just concerned on the DRW performance facebook page's comments are all extremely negative. Does anyone have any recent experience buying this? Long story short the comments say they paid and didn't receive the item or find it impossible to even contact the seller about where their order is

@@christopherh1327 hey Chris, I work directly with Weston at DRW. Unfortunately his customer service doesn’t have the best reputation. The customers that haven’t received parts will receive them soon. Weston welcomed a baby girl to his family a couple weeks before Christmas and there’s been a few factors that have delayed orders. If you order now I’d say you’re lead time is 2-3 weeks. Belly skids tend to be 3-4 weeks. Thanks for watching some of my videos 🤘
