The 450 was so fun. It revs so fast it’s almost impossible not to be peaking out the RPM’s lol that would be sweet to snag your old Raptor! I will say the Scrambler suspension is unbelievable. We rode Spider Lake last Sunday and it was unreal how unphased it was by every jump! I’m assuming the Walker Evans shocks are a big upgrade over their OEM offerings. I don’t think the price is that unrealistic for how capable it is. However the long term reliability would be a big decider in owning one 👍

@@fiji8686 the Raptor battery is much bigger and has no problem firing that quad up even if it’s ice old in single digit temps. I have a 400ex & most likely getting snow again this year was wanting to ride but what tires are best for that ?
@stephencrisson35952 жыл бұрын
From what I understand and what he says the Maxis rear snow tires are probably the best it's like he keeps saying in his videos it gives you more ground clearance so you can push through the snow A little better and they're designed for the snow so better grip
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
Like Stephan said, I don’t think there’s a better option for the cost with the 4snow’s. Otherwise you could stud out a set of dirt tires but if you buy actual ice studs it’ll probably cost more than the 4snows will 👍

The thing about the lithium batteries is that they don't work well when they're cold. Once you get the engine running and charging the battery, that warms the battery up so you shouldn't have any problems starting your engine after shutting it off during a ride.
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting me know, it’s my first time using it in the winter. I charged it up beforehand and it worked great thankfully 😊👍

How Well Would Sand Paddle Tires 🛞 Work In The Snow ❄️, Like Would You Get Too Much Traction?
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
They work okay, definitely better than the nobbies. If your on hard pack snow they work awesome. The big game changer with the 4snows is really the ground clearance and for the money they’re worth having if you snow ride a few times a year. Plus if you stay off surfaces that could damage them they’ll last a really long time. I’ve had mine 3 seasons now 👍

Hey Pete with one is better to you a raptor or a yfz? I have a raptor but never rode a yfz I love how the raptor has reverse tho so you feel like reverse is a must have?
@luixzzzz2 жыл бұрын
I used to have a raptor 700 loved the power, I only sold it because I rolled it, due to it being very unstable, I got a yfz450 and love it,its so stable and especially at high speeds, only thing I don't like about the yfz is no reverse , they are still very fast quads iv raced 700s and a 850 renagade, the yfz looses but not by much,the stability makes up for the 20 yards your behind someone in a race
@waylonmcdaniel17252 жыл бұрын
@@luixzzzz yeah the raptor is really unstable the last owner flipped it and before that probably 100 more times but I kinda got used to it being unstable.
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
If I could only have one machine it would be the Raptor. However it really comes down to your needs. I love the Raptor for trail rides and bigger rides in general. It’s more comfortable in most situations and just as happy going fast as it is going slow. However, it does have its limits in the handling category with the stock set up. But like most quads you learn those limits and respect them. The main thing I don’t like doing with the Raptor is jumping. Small-medium sized jumps are fine but it doesn’t always fly predictably so the big jumps can be sketchy. The 450 is perfect for pushing the limits. The it’s ultra stable and handles on rails. It flys predictably and is totally at home on the motocross track. Both are fun in the dunes. Deciding between them almost depends on my mood. If I’m not going to ride at my limits then the Raptor is normally my pick. The YFZR can beat you up if your putzing around on it and the motor is very on/off and doesn’t really like to be in between the rev range. Both have their quirks but for the average rec rider I think the Raptor is more practical in most situations. If your really stuck in the middle it would be ideal to test ride both if possible before you decide 👍
@PeteHager2 жыл бұрын
Oh and also the reverse is nice but not really a necessity. When your on a machine without reverse you quickly build the habit of parking in certain directions so you never need it. It’s not a deal breaker in my opinion 😊
@waylonmcdaniel17252 жыл бұрын
@@PeteHager thanks for replying and good to know what I love about my raptor is it's hard to get stuck on the dunes the sand is were I ride the most I came from a warrior to a raptor I love the power but I miss how easy the warrior was to control but I've been riding the raptor awhile so I'm used to it now thanks for your content man keep up the good work!
