You know what'd be a fun twist on this format? Play all the variations first, so the audience has to guess, before revealing at the end what original riff you're working from.

Genesis!! That was a great surprise. I still close my eyes and try to guess through the bands. I was proud to get Fear Factory. Korn was a bit easier to pick out along with Pantera. But so many others were a challenge. Great playing sir!

Great vid as usual! One hilarious suggestion for next time, and I know this isn't metal or even rock, not even guitar lol, would be turning any riff in the style of Brad Mehldau. If you don't know this dude, he is well known for turning pop and rock songs (from the likes of Radiohead, Nirvana or Rush) into jazz masterpieces. Either him or Tigran Hamasyan. Two of the absolute best living pianists on this planet.
