I couldn't face watching the sport devolve into what it is today (with apologies to people who like it - each to their own). This weekend I will be watching one of my Bathurst DVDs from the old era. There's a replacement for the 1000 now, the Production Car 6 hour in April. Different classes, the grid spread out back up conrod, and proper racing. It's like a dip back into the 60s-79s-80s.

We had the world’s best cars & all made here!! I grew up in EH holden’s & HQ’s that mum had always taken us to the beach in them as little kids,am radio blaring, best days ,Australia was a such a kool country, it’s changed so much & it’s sad we’ll never see it that way again 😢

My Dad was the NSW state promotion manager for Philip Morris (Marlboro) and used to organise Bathurst every year. He'd bring the mock ups of the race cars home and every kid within a 2km radius would appear at our house. Not bad for the days of no social media, just word of mouth.
