I currently own a 2017 hiace, today I just ordered a 2020 hiace lwb - the increased size and fuel efficiency with the toyota reliability sold me but seeing all the technology as standard was a big plus.

all the new features makes it feel more car like then van. i didnt like the lane departure assist, that was the most annoying feature.
@okm883 жыл бұрын
@@AridersLifeYT I am hoping if its annoying that the feature can be turned off. I ordered mine with tinting and a solid load barrier to help with aircon usage and reduced noises and a rear bull horn bar with towbar. As I am a full time courier those all come together to make life easier even if its covid mess. How is the NVH in your test? My hiace is firm as a brick unladen, very loud (new set of goodride has improved it slightly but not as good grip in wet to old set, although lasted longer than my previous bridgestones) and gets really hot in the cabin.

I thought I'd give a little update to owning this van for a while now and putting 20k on the clock doing dirt roads, highway and running loads. I'll try keeping it brief. I'll start with how the van drives and with my experiences compared with the old brick shaped Hiace (H200). In terms of dynamics and feel from the van, it's pretty much dead. The van lacks front end feel compared to the 'brick' and can't feel the back end working with traction or when it's going to slip..its all very numb. I much prefer the old van and dare I say the old one was fun to slap around. The OEM tires are pretty shit due to the overly soft rubber and wear very fast. Brake pads are too soft in my opinion for a commercial vehicle as they over heat quickly but thankfully pedders offer a good replacement and DBA now makes slotted rotors. I did end up having a little run in with a tree out bush trying to get myself out of a bog, Toyota priced a replacement taillight for $965 but haggled it down to $320. On the positive side, seats are mega comfortable, very efficient engine, can get 700km to a tank if I drive like a nanny. Now lastly HEADLIGHTS Holy shit are they good! They do sit slightly high on the left but with upgraded globes (stedi) they literally are a day and night change for the better. And lastly the lane assistance feature is a massive pain in the arse (thankfully can be turned off but reactivates itself when you turn the vehicle off and on again) along with the traction control can't be fully turned off.

@@okm88 that seems like a mixed review. I wonder if you can pull the duse for the Kane departure
@okm883 жыл бұрын
@@AridersLifeYT I haven't tried it yet, it's become a habit to turn it off everytime I start the van. I now have nearly 60k on the clock, still running sweet and a full set of new rubber (michelin agilis 3's which are bloody awesome) I'll probably look into finding out where the fuses are but I'm careful about not messing with my electronics too much. I have a tiktok account with the aftermath of my Bush bashing and learning to do skids in the local forestry...@candyvanaus

Good to see you Pete ! It's been a whiiiiile ! That's what I thought : - Nice, one door on each side, this would be practical for deliveries ! - Temp gauge is nice to have. I don't understand why, but it seems like vehicles tend to have it less and less. I personally find it good to know when the engine is up to temp ^^" - A real handbrake and not an electrical one👌 - Isn't it weird that it's a petrol engine ? Around here 99% of vans you'd encounter are diesel, because fuel consumption, torque availability,... But, at least, with a petrol, you don't get a knocky, loud engine :p - Camera's angles were great mate Cheers !

Put 300k on a 3.0d auto slwb zero issues, sold 17k after 6 years. Upgraded to fiat for the 2.1t legal payload/3pallet ability. Two years on 8warranty items, 3 requiring a free hire van. 1year warranty left, will sell in 6 months.

Nice review, did you end up buying it? How is it in terms of comfort and driveability long term?
@AridersLifeYT3 ай бұрын
Hey, nah ended up with a nissan elgrand. down side is the elgrand is the worst on fuel lol but they are cheap to buy so thats the trade off. As for new vans, i like the new ford Transit, that drove really well and so did the Merc sprinter, i drove the LDV and that was ok. sadly i never made follow up videos.

@@AridersLifeYTsorry for the late reply... tax, tax, tax... Government tax. Also we can use it for 10 years ONLY and scrap or export after that. It's possible to use it after 10 years BUT you need to pay for another tax called COE ( I'm not gonna explain it here.. Sorry man.. Too long.. But you can google it to understand) and you need to choose either renew for 5 years OR 10 years. The renew COE can cost up to 50k or more. For 5 years renew, you will not be able to renew again after the coe end but if you renew for 10 years, you will be able to renew again for either 5 or 10 years. That's how the system works in Singapore.
