Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

Great performance by Frampton and his band. And how great was Burt Sugarman's The Midnight Special hosted by Helen Reddy! It was a Friday night treat for us kids old enough to stay up late and catch all the latest bands. When disco came in, most rock bands took a major hit and so did The Midnight Special, signing off in 1981.

Great to see your appreciation for this!! The first time I saw him live was twice in the summer of 1979, once in Washington, D.C. and in Austin. Saw him several more times over the years. He literally just played in Austin again two weeks ago at the ACL Live Theater.

Peter performed at Day on the Green, Oakland coliseum, July 1977- he was such a heartthrob!! Same concert as Lynard Skynard, and I was lucky enough to have been there. Anyone else attend that legendary?

Saw him in the summer of 1977 at a stadium in DC. He just blew my mind, with a little help from all the stuff being passed around. I’ll always remember my 17th summer when I hear his music from Frampton Comes Alive. ✌️

"Frampton Come Alive" also had the live version of this. It came out at the end of my junior, beginning of my senior year of high school in 1976. It was THE album that it seemed everyone had. To say it's a classic is an understatement. Frampton's drummer, John Siomos left the music biz sometimes in the 80's, and became an EMT in the NYC EMS system. I am a retired NYC paramedic, and while I never worked with John, I have friends that did. They said he was a really nice guy. Sadly, he passed away in 2004.

There's a 40-minute chunk of Frampton at The Oakland Coliseum Stadium on 7-2-77 here on YT. "Do You Feel Like We Do" takes up 20 minutes of it. It's the same show as the Lynyrd Skynyrd "Free Bird" you did. Part of the "Day on the Green" concert series, this was the 4th of seven that summer. The lineup for July 2nd and 4th was: Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Santana, The Outlaws. My babysitter went to a bunch of them and would tell me about it. Zeppelin, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, etc.

Frampton was always a favorite of mine. With Humble Pie he had some great songs including Shine On, The Light and Rollin' Stone. His first solo album, Wind of Change, after he left Humble Pie included Billy Preston and Ringo Starr. His second album, Frampton's Camel was just as good. But he blew up when he released his two record set, Frampton Comes Alive, and ruled radio with songs from it. His guitar runs are epic and always very melodic; unlike anyone else. Solo songs to check out: I've Got My Eyes on You, All Night Long, Which Way the Wind Blows, I Believe (When I Fall in Love, It Will Be Forever), Wind of Change, Fig Tree Bay, and Alright. He's incredible and definitely worth a deep dive.

Good news ❗ Peter Frampton is on tour again. He plays at Windsor Ontario Canada this weekend March 16th 2024 and the United States thereafter. If you have never seen him in concert ...now is the time as he is in his mid 70's it may be a final opportunity. Absolutely incredibly phenomenal.❗ Probably the world's best guitarist. Proof needed? Look him up playing the song called "black hole sun." I lived in the USA for 5 years and had an opportunity to see him in concert while I was there... It was definitely THE highlight of my 5-years spent in the usa. Enjoy the concert

My sister had these albums on 8-track when I was a kid, and of course on 8 track I was listening to the first two Boston albums, some Lynyrd skynyrd, and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. It's hard to explain how huge of a star he was at the time. Definitely an iconic part of the mid-70s through the late 70s.

Peter Frampton is a world-class guitarist. If you really want to hear something great, listen to "Lines on My Face" from his Frampton Comes Alive album. The guitar work will blow your mind. It's interesting -- he plays leads more like a jazz player than most of the cats back then who were rooted in the blues. Good stuff.

I saw Frampton 3 or 4 times when he was playing with Ringo in "Ringo Starr And His All-star Band". He was older and bald but played just as well. The cool thing about Ringo's band was that they would play Ringo's hits but also the hits of his all-stars.

Very few people had even heard of Peter Frampton before his hugely successful live album, Frampton Comes Alive!, was released. The studio album tracks were toned down and didn't get any airplay, but the live versions were much more dynamic and received a lot of airplay. It seemed like everyone owned a copy, the album was that big. Sadly, at least in the states, his success only lasted through the one live album and then he faded away, at least in the sense of new music. He's been playing concerts ever since and the fans keep showing up.

Ah, yes, In my opinion, the line of lyrics that most defines the mid-to-late 70s sex, drugs, and rock & roll attitude comes from this song: "Must have been a dream, I don't believe where I've been. Come on! Let's do it again!" Great song choice, and reaction, once again. Peter was a heckuva showman, and even better guitarist. Yes, you can rock out with it. The folks there in the studio were under direction from signs as to when they could get rowdy and when not, because it was being recorded for broadcast on television.

Frampton's 1975 appearance on the Midnight Special was just 4 months before the release of "Frampton Comes Alive" - the live album that made him an international superstar. And Shawn, the studio version of "Do You Feel Like We Do" on the album, "Frampton's Camel" (1973), is okay, but the version on "Frampton Comes Alive" is stunning - much more raw and powerful than his appearance on the Midnight Special, imo.

Thoughts: 1. Cool Nudie suit, that floral embroidered white suit situation. 2. It’s a testament to how many flat out incredible guitarists worked in the 70s when guys like Frampton and Lindsey Buckingham come to mind after a ton of heavy hitters like Richards and Gilmour and Van Halen and Clapton and Page and Townshend and Raitt and see what I mean? 3. What an amazingly tight live performance, especially vocally. Great power and very strong pitch control even at volume. True pro by that time…after all, he’d worked on the first solo album by a Beatle. 4. He’s damn likeable because he’s enjoying himself in a really relatable way IMO. It’s easy to see he’s just loving it. And he still does I think.

You should track down Frampton's cover of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gentlly Weeps." It is otherworldly. Not too many know this, but George asked Peter (then a relatively unknown guitarist from Humble Pie) to play on his first post-Beatles album "All Things Must Past." The fact that George (who could have chosen any number of great guitarists to join him) asked Peter, speaks volumes of Frampton's talent.

I had certainly heard a lot about Peter Frampton for years before this was released! He was a member of the cult band “The Herd” in the mid Sixties, and then joined Humble Pie. It was only after leaving the Pie that he launched his solo career. The album “Frampton comes Alive” was for many years the best selling live album! You mentioned Black Coffee - this track featured Frampton’s replacement in Humble Pie - Dave (Clem) Clempson, on slide guitar. For Frampton’s work with the Pie try their 1969 single “Natural Born Boogie” or the powerhouse album “Live at the Fillmore” - some ace tracks on that double album! For his earliest work (The Herd) listen to “From the Underworld”!
