The French don't want the immigrants. France is saving money, on welfare payments, etc, by allowing immigrants to leave. Even though I am retired when the clocks change either way I feel unwell for several weeks afterwards and this was also the case when I was younger and working with a much more time regulated life. The feelings are tiredness, occasional nervousness and general aches and pains. This goes on for six weeks or so. Two smart persons talking about something that if they had asked someone with more experience in the matter (such as a long-haul pilot) their audience would have benefited more. You don't need a Concorde. A regular flight on ANA from Japan to DC arrives at the same time on the same day it leaves Tokyo. Happens all the time at higher latitude. And yes you did arrive in DC before you left London on a Concorde. You just have to fly faster than the five hours of time zone difference.

We live in a country where premeditated illegal immigration has no meaningful connotation or consequence. Like the US. And hence civilisation is disintegrating here, and there, before our eyes. The progressives are desperate to discredit reality and the marginalise the use of the word ‘invasion’. Not difficult to understand why, because if they allow that rhetoric to gain traction, then people here and elsewhere might just take matters into their own hands, on the beaches and in the streets. If allowed to continue then that’s where this ends, logically. Border security is the most basic and critical government function. Without it any government, wherever on the political spectrum, will eventually lose control of the people. Over the winter, build a big prison near Dover. Doable in 4-6 months. Write the legislation and pass it through parliament. When the prison is built, put everyone arriving in dinghies straight in it indefinitely, pending deportation. No hotels, no benefits, just a cell. Getting in the dinghy is crazy if arriving in the dinghy results in imprisonment. The ECHR won’t allow it, so leave the ECHR. Become the progressive’s global pariah. Solve the problem. Before it’s too late for all of us. And the big prison we built? When it empties because the dinghies stop arriving, we can use it to alleviate overcrowding in our home grown prison population.
