So was it "consistutuonal" to join? A body with sovereignty over parliament is surely not acceptable.

It was constitutional in the sense parliament decided to both join and leave the EU, after two referenda which were both advisory. Which body was sovereign over parliament btw? Parliament is and has been sovereign, since 1689 in fact.

Peter is against referenda because 'they are too easily manipulated' -- what, as opposed to general elections?

Yes referendum is far easier to manipulate than general elections.

People are too easily manipulated by spin because we don’t ask what’s the bias of the elite.
