My familiar belly pain bothered me, when I started watching. I did all the movements and the sound, as if I was the client - and at the very end of the first session the pain was released. For years now I have been learning so much from you through your books, it gave me so much reassurance, because I experience precisely what you talk about and teach. Understanding what is going on inside gives me great confidence and a healthy pride for all the work I have done in becoming free from the many Traumas of my childhood. Your posts are such a great gift to me, thank you so much, Peter! 🙏♥🙏

I’m a somatic practitioner who can’t , at this juncture, find a therapist or afford one. Neither can I afford the SE training . I hope that changes. In the meantime, it’s so important to make this wisdom available to everyone. Thank you so much for doing just that !

100%. I am a manual therapist and trauma recovery coach, have taken all the trainings I can afford, and have a lot of my own experience with clients and myself, but can't afford SE right now. Good news is that we can learn a LOT from free trainings like this, from books, especially from self practice and working with clients. I couldn't agree with you more, this work needs to be made available to way more people, not just training the wealthy to treat the wealthy. Thanks so much to the institute for sharing this video!
@debsnelson75 ай бұрын
I agree this training needs to be offered to those that can’t afford who can offer discounted sessions. SEP trainers please offer scholarships.
@PropheticCoachTheresa5 ай бұрын
@@debsnelson7 I'm taking a 6 month training on nutrition and trauma healing right now with Luis Mojica from "Holistic Life Naviigation", on youtube, instagram. His trainings are very affordable and he trained in SE. Once we learn it and experience it we can teach others and don't have to charge a fortune. Certification is overrated. People need help NOW. Everyone is qualified to help someone else once they learn, practice and experience for themselves. I love Luis's approach to all of this. I find it more accessible than even the most well known in the field.

Sometimes we can reprioritize our funds to make therapy a priority. I did for yrs despite poverty- found free women’s counseling in BC, and paid for it once a month or two which really helps once you’ve found that person you resonate with so you can trust! ❤

A big thank-you to all the participants, especially the courage of the people lending their nervous systems for the growth of us all and collective healing of trauma. It is wonderful to have access to these, as an antidote to the rise of the more top down approaches. SE continues to support my own growth, and I appreciate the delicate and nuanced work that is shared here.

This is such a powerful video. I get the comment about the lack of views: it deserves more exposure. Peter Levine's presence, born of long experience and deep insight, is so powerful. I'm about to start therapy with a person originally trained in EMDR now training in SE and my sense is that having the opportunity to see Peter Levine 'in action' has given me a much clearer picture of what this therapy is, has increased my confidence in it and will help me benefit from it. So, thank you for posting the video of these sessions and I hope it helps lots of other folk too.

I've only watched a few minutes so far of Allison's session and want to share something I immediately noticed and it just made me feel happy. First of all I myself have had a lot of trauma therapy and before that years of talk therapy with a lovely woman but didn't quite know how to guide the conversation to anything like the awakenings I've experienced in EMDR with my current therapist. I also have ADHD, come across weird to people, and live a lot of my life in freeze response and fear. It's getting better though:). Anyway... One thing I do that makes people a little weirded out by me is that when I speak with someone who doesn't make the reassuring facial expressions like you do here and, also like you do here, doesn't sprinkle in kind, engaging words like "holy sh!t" or "oh honey I hate that for you." or "Wow that's incredible" or a head nod with "uh hu" or "oh my, I can picture that little girl alone" while, like you said, allowing yourself to be touched without overwhelming the client... when the listener doesn't do these things I think they want me to hurry up and stop talking, so what do I do? I talk very fast and "Spit it Out" as my mom always told me to do. I've been accused of being on drugs and/or bipolar even by a mental health provider because of the way I speak when I feel I'm not being heard or rather I'm not wanted to be heard. I'm a bother. I'm in the way. I need to get on with it because surely this other person has so many other things to do and more interesting people to talk to. All that to say- Good job Dr Levine. Your presence is solid. No matter who is sitting across from you they will indeed know as a fact that there is opportunity for human-connection and that their words are worth listening to, can have an affect on others, and that they can be understood by at least one person. I love your style! I'm almost 45. So many years wasted but there is hope and I know you are giving people like me opportunities to finally find contentment, awe, joy, and peace. bravo

Also ich konnte mein Trauma nich lösen. Ich habe innerlich aufgegeben. Diese Traumatherapie war meine letze Hoffnung. Ich wollte dir schon lange schreiben und bin froh, dass ich dies jetzt endlich loswerden kann. Kerstin

Aliveness vs arousal they are not the same thing. Arousal doesn’t heal and can bring about dissociation. With aliveness, the connection, like what happens with shared breathing, can bring couples to a deep level of arousal which comes from a letting go.
