The steak for 2 was OK but the fries were insane. Brooklyn is so much better. And the steaks at Chi Spacca or Gwen in LA are far superior.

Let's be real here, places like the Peter Luger steakhouse are over-hyped, over-rated, and over-priced. They charge insane prices for a piece of meat, and drinks. Ribeye steak for two is $175, and an order of french fries is $15, are you kidding me. That is $205 for two steaks and two orders of fries. They are crazy, fries come from a potato, you can buy a 10 lb. bag of potatoes for $5.00, and they want $15 for one order of fries. There are no gourmet potatoes, a potato is a potato. I can buy a potato and make an order of fries for less than a dollar, it's all a potato. They want $15 for some sliced tomato on a plate, are they kidding me. I just bought 4 tomatoes for $3.00, that is $0.75 cents a tomato, and they want $15 for a few tomato slices, it is nuts. A steak dinner for 2 with a couple drinks each is easily $250 to $300, and that is ridiculous. I can go to a top class steakhouse in my area of Illinois and get a 16 oz. boneless ribeye steak dinner, that is the best steak I have ever had, for $26.95. And if you add a soft drink, it's about $29.00. That includes bread and butter, a massive home made salad, baked potato or fries, and the soft drink. The two of us ate for $70, with tips. And you can not tell me that Peter Lugar steak is worth $80 for one steak, no way no how. It might be a little better than a $25 steak, maybe $40 worth, but it is not $80 better. I do not care how good a steak it is, I am not paying $80 or more, for 1 steak. Because it is not worth it. I would never pay $15 for a tomato, or $15 for an order of fries, and I am never paying $20 for a mixed drink. Save your money and just go to a good steak place that has a top ribeye for $25 to $30, any more than that and you are getting ripped off, it is just meat.
