I'm so happy someone FINALLY says it. Kinect was the worst idea ever. He's right, it was a disaster. Microsoft killed the Fable Franchise. And it's really saddening to see we'll probably never see a sequel, remake or something, anything from the fable universe.

Do you guys remember when Microsoft said Kinect was essential and that they didn't need a powerful console because the power of the cloud will make up for it? Guess what? They were lying to you and who ever buys a Microsoft console thinking games won't be cancelled or that they will get variety other than shooters... Is lying to themselves.

I mean it makes sense, I never use it because no games use it. I've only used my XBox One's Kinect to turn the console off. When a whole device's best feature is turning off a console, it probably isn't being used to its full potential.

You know what's probably the most important question about Lionhead Studios? WHY IS THERE NO FABLE 2 REMASTER/PC PORT!?!?!?!?!?!?!
@TheNorth15
@TheNorth15 7 жыл бұрын
+ColdFire What about before that. They had quite a lot of time to work on two Fable remasters and a Fable 3 PC port. Yet no Fable 2 remaster/port? Makes no sense. It could've even gotten them 1 or 2 million sales extra if they did it before they got disbanded.
@TheNorth15
@TheNorth15 7 жыл бұрын
+ColdFire Well before that, in between 6 years, they could've remastered Fable 2, from what I heard is there most critically acclaimed game in the series. They could've just released the exact same game with no differences at all on future console and people would've still bought it just to see what makes this game so great.

He's such a compelling speaker so I always want to watch videos he is in and listen to his opinion but I can't help thinking his statement about the Kinect is a little bit like the pot calling the kettle .... that is to say talking about promises and promising to much and then not delivering... that said I actually think that the Fable journey which I played demo of before getting a repetitive strain injury in my shoulder from being over enthusiastic with the spell casting would work great on a virtual reality platform and would actually tempt me into buying one

I like him. I would like to see him fulfill his true vision like the one he had with original Fable but likely faced some constraints at the time in either resources or people who could really make happen what he had in mind over the more lineair course it took with less developed gameplay and character dynamics. So I think he really wanted to make happen what he said he's obviously someone who is passionate about the creative process.

...and yet, he still sold the idea Kinect as the best thing ever, showing features which were never integrated, making all the promotional videos just glorified tech demos ( tweaked to be perfectly functional ). He did his job perfectly, selling a product, and everyone fell for that....but still, Microsoft insisted with Kinect 2, and finally gave up. Molyneux problem was and is still the same: to have a great vision and never be able to accomplish what he has in mind, and this has happened so many times that, from my point of view, between him and someone who's selling a vacuum cleaner, the main difference is that at least I can try the vacuum cleaner before buying it, rather then just listen to promises.

I had an orginal Xbox and 360 and never had a PS2 or PS3. When the latest console generation was launched I HAD TO switch sides. The launch of the Xbox One was horrific. Not being able to share games? Forcing us to buy kinect when I reside in a small space. It just seemed like Playstation was more focused on gamers and gaming than Xbox which was more about multimedia. Glad I made the switch although I do envy that backwards compatibility.
