I really like the smaller overall size without really losing much in the way of blade length on this nirvana 3.0. This is my favorite iteration of the nirvana so far, I love the form factor. The blade finish on this 3.0 is incredible as well! I always love it when there is a stonewash over top of another finish, in this knife it’s mirrored and then stonewash (which is absolutely beautiful and done very well), one of my very favorite finishes is the stonewash over satin that benchmade does - you just cannot go wrong with well done stonewash over top of a different type of finish.

I love the fact that we can buy a Resenti like knife for a third of his customs. The Payson is a great knife. Maybe one of these days...it is definitely a beautiful production knife. I hope he does more...

Nice blade! I didn’t like it when I first saw it, but after comparison, it really seems like the best iteration of the knife! Do you think ZT will ever do an integral, or do you think they’re starting to just get left behind? Looking forward to an eventual review of the 0223 lol

Thanks for the comments! I agree, I wasnt sure about the design until he explained the changes and I held them in hand. This is a better EDC by far. ZT is consistently missing the mark on what the community wants. They will likely make a full integral one day but it will be costly.

1st like and 1st comment Doc! I love the Nirvana and the sound of the deployment AND that detent ball sucking back into its place - sounds so nice. I love the pivot and I’ve been on a recent copper hype that was started unexpectedly by a crkt avant that kept getting compliments from non-knife people and family. I’m loving copper more than I did before and I think it’s just the right amount of “pop” for a knife like this where you don’t want to detract from the design and the lines. A lot of color is always very nice but it can be a distraction in most cases. Sometimes the lines and the shape are so stunning that any amount of color may not accent things properly or to everyone’s personal preference and the lines start to get less seen behind the color. This shape is museum worthy and its enough to stand alone in its design without mokumai etc. That’s a grail knife for me personally because I can’t stop buying high end production and at a rate that a crow collects shiny things. I got an order delivered yesterday chalk full of Kizers and the day before was a massdrop delivery of 3 knives. For the price of 3 massdrop I could have picked up a Resentti but I can’t stop my “gotta catch ‘me all!” Attitude and I have to keep my research going for the sake of my hobby, right? We’re all just researching what we like and what we don’t like and we find out things along the way that can shake our taste. This channel is my breakfast now. Super informative, super honest, and all kinds of interests in the knife world that shows in video. And one stellar collection that can reduce a human to chills and all the feels.

Wow what amazing feedback. Thanks for your support and kinds words. Yoi are doing it right 100%. It has taken me 6 years of slowly building up and buying all the latest production knives and sampling all types of blades to get here. Studying broadly will help you define your tastes and preferences, and help you build your ideal collection! The Nirvana is essentially a perfect expression of what a knife can be and I think it has a universal appeal and would do well as an art exhibit by itself!

Completely agree- it should be on display somewhere amongst other great blades. And I’m glad that I don’t have to feel as guilty about my little “itch” purchases where I need to scratch an itch for a certain style. All in good fun and very educational, personally! I’m very early in my journey as I have only rekindled my flame and passion after taking a very long hiatus! So much has changed in the knife world and it’s not just the steel that has changed! So much to explore, so much to try for ourselves and at a much much lower price point for yesterday’s super steels and even for our modern day super steels. Great time to be a knife nut in my opinion!!

I just don't feel the Nirvana love, I've tried. Same with the Paysan. My Paysan actually had a fairly stiff detent, close to a 6. No way you could shake it out. Let them make fun of you for knife acoustics, makers spend a _lot_ of time fussing over that. It's all part of the experience. That clip is a must for all future Rassentis, seriously the biggest drawback on his past knives. Carnauba man, keep those finger prints down. I'm experimenting with EDCI v carnauba right now.
