Peter was not high on anything if any of you knew him well enough you would know that Pete suffered from anxiety and stage fright. He was shy and did not do well with interviews and being put on the spot. He had to drink a few glasses of wine before getting on stage every night just so he could get through a damn show. Quit judging him. The poor guy is dead give him some peace already.

Pete died from the same heart defect that killed his father. I know because he and his family were personal friends of mine. Pete's biggest addiction was red wine. Don't disrespect Pete especially since none of you even know him well enough to even do so. Pete was a beloved brother, uncle, son and friend

I just think what made his music so awesome is the innocence and honesty , he never really wanted fame and didn't like playing live and etc , but that's why petes song writing was so awesome , his art was his heart

Crazy I still become angry thinking about his death. I suppose it’s because how badly I wish he was still alive. He was a once in a lifetime being. Fortunately I watched Type O live in October 2009. Incredible to watch him perform songs from Dead Again. Peter was doing so well before he passed. I used to regularly see him walking around the community lake (a lot of times just picking up litter), but just always doing things to better himself (staying sober, going to the local Church, spraying paint around potholes in the road so the community maintenance would fill them in). My poodle ran out in the road to say hi to him one time and my mother was apologizing to him but he did not mind at all, had a smile on his face.

This part and part 2 of the interviews break my heart. He had so much pain from family stuff growing up, horrible breakups, wanting to commit suicide, doing drugs which he later regretted, never finding someone who truly cared and loved him for him, and he had like zero self confidence when it came to his looks among other things, etc etc. It's hard to hear him talk about his struggles and how unhappy he was. I think he put on a good front, but inside, he was silently dying all the time. Regardless of how he felt about himself, he will always be my favorite bassist and vocalist as well as the funniest and most sexy man I've ever laid eyes on. RIP Green man💚😢

Ya know, as you get into bands over the years, you begin to naturally admire the artists. And you get curious to hear them in interviews. Sometimes, when you hear the artist speak, it's a bit of a let down, but you still love the music. Peter was a great gem that was always a real joy to hear speak, for his humor of course, but also the times he got serious. Always funny, always interesting, always honest.

Christine Baranski (an American actor) made a similar joke. She is of Polish origin as well. Unfortunately, there have been tasteless jokes about Polish people; most likely it comes from ignorance or someone really wanted to spoil reputation/ impression about Polish people. A term "Polack" is most likely offensive in the 🇺🇸 - that's what I have heard anyway. Peter was sarcastic and I can imagine his live growing up in 60s, 70s and 80s with Polish surname. He was such an intellectual, perceptive, well-spoken person. Thank you for being YOU, Peter, and I deeply regret that you had to struggle with biopolar. I hope you have found your own place in the after life.

I still can't believe Peter Ratajczyk is gone? I grew up with Type O Negative & Carnivore & Pete was the reason I picked up a bass guitar in 1991 after hearing their first album, 'Slow Deep And Hard' & that was it for me lol, it went all down hill from there. But dam I still don't think there's too many days that go by that I don't think of Peter. I feel as if Peter was a very close friend of mine or family member. R.I.P.-Peter Ratajczyk Steele.

now that's one thing that is very rare nowadays with bands Is the fact they don't react with their fans or treat them nicely like they should be. But Type O Negative band members were always,ALWAYS AWESOME to their fans!! If you didn't know keyboardist Josh Silver you could misenterprate him as being cocky maybe even rude but he's not he's just quiet & at those times, high or drunk or both lol,& now he's saving lives in New York as an EMIT LOL!!
