The younger people of today have no idea what a phenomenon this series was back in 1976. I was in ninth grade, and after each episode seemingly everyone in school was talking about it the next day. There were only four major networks at the time when I was growing up (our area didn’t get cable until the 80s) and watching miniseries such as “Rich Man, Poor Man” was a real event. Man, I really miss those days.

Loved him in "Rich Man, Poor Man" and in everything else. I met him many years ago in Ohio when he was in Kenley Player's "Heaven Can Wait". I went backstage to get his autograph, he spoke to me and I stood there speechless like a zombie.

Thank you for this! Wow. Amazing. I'm in my mid-sixties and became a fan of Peter Strauss' works since "Rich Man, Poor Man." Some 40 years later, he's still my fave. Thanks for showing all these wonderful videos from the "Pioneers of Television." They are tremendous.

Terrific interview. Rich Man, Poor Man was monumental, the kids in my high school were into and everybody else. I loved book one and two, never show it anymore. Also a fan of Masada, another outstanding production and even the TV comedy movie An Angel on my Shoulder.

Its 2023 in UK, an old Law & Order is on in the background, I suddenly looked up with my homing device like radar switched on, I know that voice! Voices do it for me, or really don't. The voice comes back into shot Yes! it's Peter Strauss 😃 decades fell away to Rich Man, I looked Peter up online which lead me to this masterclass with that beautiful voice 👏 I loved it and will look for more. Thank you for the memories Mr Peter Strauss 🙌

@@zoedouglas-cain2150 did you send it? Did he answer? When I was a kid I loved Sophia Loren also, and saw that Life magazine with her on the cover. I wrote to her and addressed it: Sophia Loren, Villa outside Rome, Italy. She sent me a gorgeous glossy head shot on which she wrote my name and signed it, Love, Sophia. I showed it to everyone and loved her ever since.

This inerview was amazing. I grew up with the 1970s mini series and agree with everything he said. People was instant gratification. They dont have the attention span. Everything has changed and no necessarily for the better. I also agree that the entertainment industry and media discards people, epsecially women, over a certain age.

This wonderful, so charming and so dignified, "unique en son genre", Peter Strauss! My communist Bulgaria was just crazy for him in the summer of 1982, and far beyond this summer. The streets were deserted when the miniseries of "Rich man, poor man" were shown on our very rigid and very ideological TV. It was almost revolutionary: the caracters and the the story were embodying everything you didn't have at that time and this American guy, Peter Strauss, was himself no more no less the ideal man, even for the teenager I was at that time. I'm now 55 and every summer, I'm wacthing again and again "Rich man, poor man". May God bless these timeless Peter Strauss, Nick Nolte, Susan Blakely and Susan Sullivan!

Such a good actor that sadly most of this generation will not see. Of course there are always those who watch "classic" films as we watch silver screen actors and films. I do miss the mini-series as there were many good ones. Would love to see them remastered ( not changed)and show again.
