The nice thing about balding and keeping a big jacket on is that he looks pretty much like Murphy at the end of the movie, it must be awesome to viewers to see him talk right after watching the movie. Here he is, right out of the screen for you. And now, seeing him talk, how hard and mean he actually is in real life, portraying a very soft and nice agent Murphy at the beginning of the movie is awesome acting.

For my money, Peter Weller as RoboCop is one of the best performances in the history of film. Give him every award. Why? I never questioned that RoboCop was a machine. Ive seen the behind the scenes, Ive seen these interviews, I know about the mime acting and al… But I watch the movie and part of me thinks “nah! Thats no acting, that guy is part man, part machine (all cop!)”. It has to be the greatest complement to a magician that, even if you know the trick, you still believe the magic.

Grand Prix with James Garner and Le Mans with Steve McQueen are two of the greatest racing movies ever made that I have seen. All the driving footage is done AT SPEED. No camera tricks, no projections, cars driving full out on a track. A thing of beauty.

...this movie just doesn't get old. It has so many levels to it...you can watch it on like 5 different levels and on each level it's a great film. It's not even that dated in terms of the special effects....it's still watchable for sure on that level.

I still love watching the original Robocop, one of my all time favorite action movies. It probably helped that it came out when I was 14 at such an impressionable age. Something about those 80's made movies are just so awesome. Great era of film making. I liked the new Robocop movie but it just didn't have the magic of the original, at least the ED209's looked better though.

Well, it could be fine, but like Weller says in the video; they've been trying to 'recapture' Robocop since the day it was released, with comics, movies, TV shows and so forth. It seems like it's rare for people to really understand what it is that makes the original great.

This guy is genius. I actually used to work in Danish Television (in the finance department) I had a meeting with one of the directors of one of the big Danish TV-shows to go over budgets and costs. in the middle of the meeting I find an invoice for A PROCESSTRAILER. this prompts me to verbatim reiterate Peter Wellers entire Processtrailer rant. I wholeheartedly agree with Peter Weller on everything he says about movies, could not have said it better myself :-) #NOTTHEPROCESSTRAILER ;-)

He didn't trash Denzel he actually praised his acting when he was not driving in the car. He was more critical towards the industry relying on towing the cars instead of the actors driving them for real, and the overuse of the closeup shot for scenes that don't require them.

"I can feel them, but I can't remember them." I've always had trouble understanding that line because it hardly makes any sense. The only way it can make sense to me is that he can emotionally feel his family (through the memories that he has managed to unlock... which itself is remembering) and that he can't remember them because all of his memories haven't revealed themselves yet. That's what makes the most sense to me, that has to be the only answer.

Wow...I knew Peter Weller was passionate about film making but he reallhy lets himself off the leash here...it would be so intimidating to work with him, I think, if you were a director. Although I suspect he might not have been as strident in the Robocop days as he is now. The great thing about robocop is how they took what is essentially a B movie idea and turned it into pure gold by giving it an acute social commentary and treating the characters in a genuine way (except perhaps the bad guys)

The problem with CGI is that today it is used to do EVERYTHING concerning special effects. Creatures, stunts, vehicles, explosions, lasers, you name it! But if you use it along other techniques like stop motion or say animatronics, you can produce really good scenes where the CGI doesn't take the reins and instead you mix different ways to make special effects without resorting to only 1 for everything. Very few films do this today, but the Lord of the Rings trilogy is a prime example.

Also, critics out there have an open mind with all the re-makes, I know its like OMG C'MON HOLLYWOOD, YOU GUYS DON'T HAVE ANY IDEAS ANYMORE??. Watch it and then comment it and not comment it first and say its crap then watch it and then you change your opinion on the film saying that its Great. So have an open mind. The batman series by Christopher Nolan was just incredible, by far the best batman I've seen so I had doubts in the beginning but it turned out great.
