We have to remember that in most cases it was just a job with a paycheck to them. All the deep meaningful stuff were looking for wasn't there. They turned up did the shoot and went home.

What they SHOULD have done was make it an EXTENTION of the mythos rather than a remake. After Alex Murphy's sacrifice to save Detroit 75 years ago, a young idealistic rookie gets killed in the line of duty only to wake up and find himself converted to a NEW Robocop. After a while he goes online and meets the spirit of Murphy himself, (Played by Welle) having uploaded his mind onto the Internet and becoming a metor and informant to the new Robocop.
