This guy, as well as Schopenhauer of course, actually buoy my waterlogged spirit. There's a certain comfort in listening or reading someone who can state our collective horrifying predicament so eloquently and with compassion.

Hey wonkmonk, I just finished listening to Conspiracy by Ligotti. Now that I know who Zapffe is, I'm going to listen to this. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your reading style and dedication to this. I was blown away by the book. It's the first time I really felt validated in my feelings about life.

I expect this kind of thought from a Romanian expatriate, or an alcoholic living in Lisbon, but such writings from the quarterback of the New England Patriots is completely unexpected.

And there one realizes that one can’t always ‚biographicalise‘ somebodies ideas to dismiss them, just because they are uncomfortable.

i've always said that. the only difference between man and nature is that we kill for no gain and we have consciousness; god's biggest fuck ups
