Fighting wise they did, the wealthy Romans in the west stopped caring. The middle-class didn't want to fight and the reforms of the east were remarkable.

Volkswagen & BMW came to the U.S. and set up assembly factories! I expect the majority of workers to be white Americans. Strange people for my understanding, in typical German fashion the management offered the workers to set up their own worker elected works council. The American workers denied the offer. In Germany, the vast majority of companies have workers elected works council - Betriebsrat, that gives the workers the legal right to have a say in company internal decisions of all kind. Even Elon Musks Berlin Tesla Gigafactory has a Betriebsrat - works council since election March 2022, and that before full production has begun.
